I rode from T.O. to Portland Maine this summer and I didn't notice all these bad roads mentioned. The only bad roads there I can think of are in Vermont. 100 is bumpy and some of the mountain roads between Lake Champlain and 100 are a piece of ****. I found New Hampshire and Maine roads to be ok.

We can question the data all day long but one fact remains. There are not enough new riders entering the sport. Its a sad fact.

When I go on trips of less than a week I always pre-book. I am a worry wart. Having said that. I never pre-booked a single night during my 6 week trip to California last April and I never had a problem finding a room. I think it had some thing to do with it being the off-season.

That hairpin requires any body's full attention. I have ridden roads in California, Colorado, and the Dragon, but have never encountered a road like that hairpin at the forks.
