Try Canadian tire - alot of these relays are universal fits. had to replace mine during a trip and bought one from crappy tire that looked different, but did the exact same thing.
Just an idea
Definitely paid off for me - used it five times in the last two years. What can I say, I have thing for old harleys.
When you call just make sure you tell them its a motorcycle and they will send an appropriate truck.
Flying Squirel is just a retailer, however Glen (the owner) should be able to recomend someone. Otherwise 109 Cycles on Danforth, or Ontario Cycle Salvage are in the area.
It seems like there has been a push on lately to ticket motorcycles. I have noticed all the bikes in my neighbourhood getting ticketed for parking overnight without a permit - i know its illegal but all summer the parking guys would turn a blind eye, while ticketing cars right beside my bike. I...
I had a similar problem with an old suzuki - checking the vent to make sure its not gummed up is a good start. If there is a vacum line disconnect it, try starting the bike and see if it creates vacuum pressure. If neither of these work, pull the petcock and check the filter screen to see if its...
Call Equilfax fast. The same thing happened to my sister when she went to get a mortgage. She has great credit, but her twin brother has huge debts and they were attributed to her credit rating by mistake (probably because they share a birthday). She hired a lawyer because she was in a hurry...
1990 sportster - my best and worst bike. Previous owner had done some truly frankienstein work on it (hence I got it super cheap), so I am constantly fixing things and replacing parts. Every time I ride I make sure I am carrying my CAA membership in case of trouble. Broken chains, multiple...
It took me a month to really get comfortable on highways - and even now I avoid the 400 series around the GTA - mainly cause the traffic.
It might help if you do your first highway ride with experienced riders that you know and trust. Let someone else lead and follow their example. If you can...
Was going to Detroit over the bridge, stopped at the American customs booth with three cars ahead of me - was a small leather pouch on the ground. Picked it up thinking it might be some one's wallet - opened it up to find a pipe and (I think) a bag of weed. Dropped it as fast as I could and...
A norton is a nice bike, but as far parts go it depends on how old of bike you are looking at. I have a 20 year old harley and it can be tough to find parts for it sometimes - I ride with a guy who has a late 70's BSA he is in a constant hunt for parts. If you do go with an older bike I...
That's minimal damage - don't worry about it. By the time you go to sell the bike (whenever) you'll likely have more scratches to deal with, so worry about it then.
Glad to hear you managed to minimize the damage and not hurt yourself.
I agree with Canadian Biker on this one. If your heart isn't in it then maybe its time to walk away - there is nothing wrong with that. I watched a buddy take a nasty fall this year and had close call myself - if near misses like these do not make you question riding then something is wrong. The...
