Trading in my Duc and had to order a factory cat/exhaust setup off eBay to get the deal done. I do get to keep my HP Corse slip-on now and hopefully can use on a future bike. I can see cats on bikes now getting stolen or the whole bike for the cat.
I buy from GPBikes and Riders Choice when it makes sense but have also bought tons of gear/parts from UK/Europe. Much better than buying form the states these days unless you want to make the drive down to NY Mailbox.
Get a scooter. New riders fall off so insurance will be high. It goes down with years of insurance experience. Until one day you can insure a 200 HP+ superbike for $1500 a year full coverage.
The Dainese smart jacket and A* tech 5 are both for the street. Obviously will help prevent injuries if worn. Another layer of gear is not ideal in the hot heat. Neither are cheap. I would say buy a really good helmet first before spending money on an airbag.
I got the dainese smart jacket (vest). I don't notice it much while on the bike. Ventilation is decent. Kreiga R25 backpack doesn't work well with it but I usually ride with my R15. Worth the hassle in my opinion. Battery life is pretty good. I wear my Merlin hoody or Dainese MIG jacket over top.
