Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I ran a little 2016 Kia Soul EV and it was much closer to the truck price... But I think that is also substantially cheaper than the 2016 F150 and Model S... I looked up the range and I think it's just enough range to get me to the in-laws, but not enough range that I can drop off the missus...

Mmm, got it. Makes sense. So is this common among all EVs then? I don't remember paying anything substantially different when I had my 2008 Toyota Highlander V6 Hybrid back in 2018... but I guess the hybrid is a much smaller battery. Fun fact: Vespa scooters tend to get written off more than...

Don't forget the new ones are all aluminum. ****, even my 10 year old 2016 F150 already has the aluminum cab and bed. I have the inside of the bed lined, get the underside oiled before winter, and while the front and rear bumper can get rust (still steel), those can be bought cheap on...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

For ***** and giggles, I changed the vehicle insured for this quote from the Model S, to my 2016 F150, and changed nothing else in the insurance quote, the price dropped by more than $2,000/yr on the pay as you go insurance and it dropped by $3,000/yr on the traditional insurance. My truck is...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Are Tesla's normally ridiculously expensive to insure? lol I just got a quote on this 2015 Model S 70 that's $13K with 150,000 (here: Facebook ), and even on a pay as you go plan at 2,000 km for the whole year (I figured it would be a rare occasional use secondary cage when I don't want to take...

Yeah but if you spend another $1250 to fix it, for $3,000 you'll have yourself a really nice $1,500 Ninja 250.

On one hand, I think you're underlining my point of not buying anything lower on the Ford production line than an F150, like the Maverick in the post I was replying to. On the other hand... I've put a little short of 300,000 km between two F150s and I can't really say either one suffered any...

I wouldn't buy any Ford that wasn't an F150 and up to be honest... And I say that as someone who's happily taken his last F150 to 325,000 km, and is currently on his second one... If small, Japanese. If big + money, also japanese. If big - money, F150.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I'm torn on this.... I had, I think, a 2006 or 2008 Highlander Hybrid around 2018-2019, so it would've been ten years old. 220,000+ km by the time I sold it. It was still fine. I really liked it. So much room for activities with the girl before we lived together, and the economy was real nice...

Imagine if manufacturers told us we would have to start using an app to figure out where we could fill up our motorcycles? Internet forum keyboard warriors would be outraged. The rest of us with balls would be out with torches and pitch forks calling for blood. And y'all are just doing this...

Yep. 100%. I've had jobs take me from Ohio to east of Ottawa and up to an hour shy of North Bay. Around the GTA, you can always find a gas station, usually open late too, but in the boonies, not only are they few and far between, with not many of them having chargers, but a lot of them close...

If we had Australia's climate and sun hours, we'd probably be closer to where you guys are now down there. Sydney gets 600+ more hours of sunlight than Toronto a year, and it's more evenly distributed throughout the year, so a lot more incentive to invest in solar, more incentive to do the...

My truck is what makes me money. Never having to stop and wait = never missing out on customers. Take care of two customers in a day and the $235 difference is net even and I still have 800 more km worth of fuel in the tank... I agree that my way is not best for everyone, but neither is...
