Hope they find him soon..

A police officer has been taken to hospital after being struck by a motorcycle near High Park Saturday evening.
The incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. near Parkside Drive and Spring Road.
Police say an officer attempted to stop two motorcycles that appeared to be speeding in the area. As the motorcyclists approached the officer, police say one accelerated and struck the officer, knocking him to the ground.
The officer was taken to hospital with non life-threatening.
Police say the motorcyclists did not remain at the scene of the accident and investigators are searching for the motorcyclist that hit the officer.
The motorcycle is described as a black 2007 Honda CBR 600 RR with possible red markings. The rider was wearing leather clothing and a full face black helmet, police say, and the bike is missing its left side rear view mirror.
Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

Kinda stupid move by the cop. Ive seen one walk out in front of a speeding car on Danforth and nearly get run over, he literally dived out of the way while the car just drove off.

Also how does he know the exact year of the cbr?

My thoughts exactly, for a fast incident like being hit by an oncoming bike they happen to know a hell of a lot of detail

Likely there was a camera on the dash. Not very hard to slow down or freeze frame footage to identify a vehicle doing that.

I got stopped once on Steeles and Keele for speeding. The cop pretty much just jumped out of nowhere right in the middle of my lane. I had to slam on my breaks really hard to avoid hitting him. He was nice and reduced my fine to 10 over but I can totally see how someone can hit the cop by accident in this type of situation.

Same thing happened to me...dumb son of a ***** stood there dressed in all black waving his arms like an idiot. I thought "who the hell is this retard running out on to the street", by the time I realized it was a cop I was a good distance past him so said **** him, I'm not going back with my tail between my legs or waiting here on the shoulder while he runs up to me only to hand me a fat ticket.

I was on my 250 but **** him still...he wasn't catching my *** that day.

Oh yea, then there was the ******* who clubbed me across the face with his baton claiming I "ran over" his foot. This guy is running a speed trap hiding across Erindale Park like a sneaky little *****. Jumps out on to Dundas to pull me over while I'm on my way home from UTM. I was tailing the car in front of me so I slow down thinking he's pulling him over, turns out its me he's after. I'm in first gear and decide to roll up to him literally by just letting the clutch out, no throttle.

This prick pulls out his extendo and cross checks me across the face popping open my visor and almost making my bike fall. I caught it between my legs and then he's trying to pull me off so I get into a little battle with him just to put the stand on and get off my bike without dropping it...bottom line he's the type of that needed to have his *** run over. ****er pulled me over again 3 years later too...:lmao:. His name is G. Middleton big fat ugly bald porky son of a *****. Peel traffic supervisor out of 11th division, usually in a SUV. If he ever pulls any of you over tell him the rider on the red Kawasaki says quit being a prick.

Sometimes these guys just think they're heroes and need a reality check. When they're running a speed a trap they're required to wear a reflective vest which they never do because they want to be sneaky bastards so **** them when they decide to run out on to the road in front of live traffic.

I saw one cop run onto the forks to stop and ask if weve been drinking.

******* idiot to say the least.

Totally stupid move by the riders.

Something similar to me. Rising sun in my eyes, cop jumped out to stop me. I BARELY saw him and he wasn't wearing a high viz vest. Dummy.

Well this forum didn't disappoint me one bit. I figured if the cops needed a clue who they are dealing with, come to GTAM....etc. as I now have, and read all the statements defending the actions of the rider. I figure he is on here somewhere soon trolling for sage legal advice, now that he's already got the message that is loud and clear on this board to run from the cops.

With all these kamikaze cops jumping out of no where, you'd think folks would think riders would slow down?

Carry on.

Like what?

I see people saying what LEOs often do -- running out in front of moving vehicles, often without wearing hi-viz nor with due respect for safety of riders -- is really stupid (and it is) but I don't see many, if any, defending the subject of the OP (i.e. hitting a cop and running.)

Next time you see a cop working a speed trap and getting out onto the road without a high viz vest snap a picture and send it to the Ministry of Labour. They will investigate and fine if they are not wearing the required PPE.

If true...a valuable little tidbit

I dont see anyone defending the rider. Just commenting on how silly the cop was to get himself run over.

If a slime bag...horn dog.. cash grabbing...insurance inflater... quota filling minion jumps out and proper identification is not verified on my part how do I know he is not some 8 ball seeking crackhead looking to rob me or steal my bike.
Now if paced or caught whilst riding I will stick around for the .....I will drop it down to 15 over spiel.

Otherwise police are the best rah rah rah

NONE of you know what really happened here - its all conjecture on your part.
Wait for the dash cam evidence before you slam the rider or the cop.
There's always more to the story.
You may flame on now....

Got that from a pay duty cop at a job site i was at last year after there was a visit from a MOL inspector. He told us about a memo that came down after a cop pulled over MOL inspector for a minor traffic offense. After the cop gave him a ticket and told him to be on his way the inspector told him it was his turn, pulled out his blue hard hard and ticket book and went to town.
