Last nite my bike took a long time to start but started. I chalked it up as low gas...

Today i rode in rain, when i got to work i washed bike.

Now it wont start....
First think i noticed is i dont hear the fuel pump when i turn ignition to ON

could the was effect the fuel pump??

"If i was educated, I'd be a damn fool"

the was could not

And the battery connections.Both ends.

Kill switch ok
All fuses ok
All lights are on when ON
No fuel pump priming sound

"If i was educated, I'd be a damn fool"

Do you hear the fuel pump prime when u turn the keys?

Smelling fuel and hearing are 2 dif things. Now what kind of bike do you have and can u access your plugs to check for spark and to see if there is fuel?

Also, try starting the bike at fully open throttle. This will flush whatever is in your jugs out.

I do not hear the fuel pumps..
So i am guessing it has to be the pump or the pump relay

How can i first confirm the relay is okay?

If its the relay then its the fusebox if its not the relay then it's your pump.

So i am first going to check there is 12v going to relay then to the fuel pump.

If there is 12v going to pump then its the pump

If there is 12v going to relay but not to pump then its the relay

If there is no 12v going to relay then the computer us not sending 12v to start pump.

Is this a correct way to look at this?
