You retired young...your dreams can now come true...what would you do? What would be your motorcycle line-up and what would be your destination(s)? And for how long?

The line-up in the garage would consist of:

Brand new Goldwing with Hannigan sidecar (To take my wife and 3 little dogs)
2014 KTM RC390 (Perfect for the twisties)
Any early 80's Yamaha XS650 stripped and hard-tailed (My Billy Badass ride)
2013 DRZ400SM (the Hooligan bike)

Then after all that, they would no doubt all sit for the first 5 years as i traveled around the world to all the great motorcycle adventures I have grown up watching. Top Gear run in Japan on scooters, Himalayan mountain's, The Canadian Territories, Long way down etc.

my final day is july 31st,golf will finish my summer and then ice fishing starts,no plans for a motorcycle trip as of now.

You don't have to wait till you retire to plan a trip. Breaks in a career may be a good thing. Another DR650 and continue to ride around the world or where I left off - east coast of Africa.

43 working days to go until retirement. Leaving on this solo trip early July!

Congratulations!

Will you be doing anything in the ride report department? Ongoing? After the fact? I sure hope so.
Sport touring or cruising? Sport touring, it looks like you're good to go. If cruising, might I suggest shock lowering blocks and 6inch fork extensions? LOL, just kidding, 4 inch ought to do it.:o

9 years to retirement, but I'm not waiting until then. Many trips planned for this summer already.

I have 7 to make it to 25. Always stated 25 and out, but I now think I may stick around until 30. It seems doable and I really haven't gotten retirement plans lined up yet. If I retired in 7 years I think I'd be bored. Need a retirement gig lined up, something that you love.

I wanna buy an ToyHauler and tour for a few years. Hit the tracks and chill

I'd probably do something like Lightcycle.
Then if I'm rich buy a few acres of land so I can hunt, ride dirt bikes & horses.
One can only dream

Hit me up when you retire. I don't plan to ever get rid of mine either when I upgrade.
Bought it for not much, and it's soon to be running sweetly after a top-bottom overhaul. I'll let you touch it...just a bit if you ask nicely :)

I only wish I could (have) retire(d) at 30. I just turned 33 this year. I have a bit of cash behind me but nothing even close to think of being able to quit working, unless I used it to fund a life of crime haha. I don't know when I will retire, I am hoping maybe around 50 if I am **** lucky and 60 if not.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, or came into a ton of money... and I already have my R6, I would buy:

1 - KTM 690 Enduro R
2 - BMW R1200GS ADV
3 - Ducati 998
4 - Honda Stateline (perhaps?? Sat on one at the bike show and definitely would have to get at least 1 cruiser)
5 - MV Agusta Dragster
6 - KTM EXC 350

I guess that would keep me pretty much on something decent in every category I am interested in.

First I'd fly over to Europe and purchase a SuperDuke R. I would use said bike to tour Europe while taking every track school that is available in English while visiting all the race tracks from Gran Turismo 6 (to see and experience their real life counter part).

The bike would then be imported back here where I would tour the USA repeating the same process. Once done, I would purchase a 3rd bike (probably a beat up GSXR) and start racing.

...and this will never happen ; ;

i like the concept of toyHauers but i don't think im skilled enough to trust myself with a trailer that big.but i haven't had that much experience hauling. I think i would prefer a small RV for space for a bike..

Congratulations Schneller! I wish you health and safe travels! Less than 5 years to retirement for me. Very, very surreal!

Thank you. And yes, surreal is a good word to describe the experience of imminent retirement after 28 years. After this summer trip, time during winters spent in Florida sounds good.

I'll post a link to a site where I will be posting to from the road.

I'd get into a 23-26 foot sailboat, starting the hobby at ground zero.

No man. I have 18 years at my job, 7 to make it to 25. However I will probably work for 30 years.

hahaha, that was a classic misinterpretation on my part. :) Here I was thinking, this lucky bastard. He must have more cash than Sonny with the Lambo/Sick Rides of other various types. :D

Retired 21 years ago... out when I was 49.... not enough hours in the day to do what I want! Guess I was one of the lucky ones but when you work as a millwright from a young age it helps big time down the road.
