Neither are very clean but the first one is better, it will have an easier time passing safety(rear blinkers) and its not a mix and match bike, so probably hasn't had a serious crash/molestations

these bikes sound like un-cared for crap. an accident that req'd the forks to be replaced? is the bike now straight? who knows? were the steering triples replaced? is it possible this bikes frame is not even perfectly straight anymore? needs paint. whole thing seems laughable to me. As for the other bike it clearly isn't certified and I have heard the 03 specific engine has a history of reliabilty issues. Its not certified and 15 years old. the bike has numerous scrapes and is missing windshield bolts and signal lights. It is not a well cared for example.

Walk away from crap like this. I would spend another $500-$700-$1000 and seek out a clean unmolested example of the sv650 in excellent stock condition; preferably with service history.

I recently posted a 2012 sv650 for $3500. think about it value wise.

forgive me if I come across as harsh.

^This.

You get what you pay for, spend a few extra bucks and find a much nicer, and cleaner bike.

There are exceptions to this rule, but those are 1 in a million. In which case you run to Ottawa and buy the bike asap :)

For instance:

$3200, but REALLY clean. If i found this a month ago, I would have bought this one instead

What's a reasonable price for an 2006 sv650 with ~20K kms in decent condition?

I'd also add for the 650s, it'd be at the bottom of that range while the naked ones seem to be on the higher end for whatever reason.

supply and demand, there seem to be far more of the S version than the N version.

Also the N version is more comfortable. The S version having more aggressive ergos

Love the looks of the white and blue version

It does look good, but definitely not worth $5500. Or at least I don't think it is.

thx for the links, im a lazy azz.

I was thinking about the other posters talking an sv650 naked. the fz07 could work if you like the bad azz look. I would think $4600 - $4800 might work. Bike is near new, other than the year.
