A number of bike specific forums have rider assistance sections, particularly touring bike forums as the riders can have difficulties hundreds of mile from home. The helpers are familiar with the particular bike and have known connections for parts and service.
In the OP's case although I live in Etobicoke and could have given him a place to park the bike for a few days it still had to be transported. I don't know where in Etobicoke he was and whether it would be worth moving it twice. Him being injured versus a bike problem complicates things.
Considering the odd bikes (And owners) represented here I don't know if a GTA assistance page would help. Basically it's a banner that directs helpful sorts to a rider-with-a-problem post.
Probably easier said than done.
