Benefits of owning multiple bikes

Off my 2014 str.

Pretty basic nut and bolt. I wouldnt be riding back to GP Bikes for this...

Tried to upload another pic. Tapatalk said it was an "adult image".

Looked like a rad guard and a bracket to me. Bike porn?

yeah, thats what the dealer told me as well, I'll be picking up the hardware locally soon

Having different bikes for different types of riding is great. If I want to hit the track, take the race bikes; woods, take the dirt bikes; frozen lake? Studded mini bike! Need my ice cream fix in a town far away, the street bike!

Only problem is storing the 9 bikes in a one car garage

Please tell me you're not silly enough to store a car in that garage.

That right there is the real benefit to owning multiple bikes.

When you get Two-Wheeled Fever in a bad way, you realize motorcycling is not just track, or sumo, or dirt, or street, or touring, or trials, or etc. etc. etc. and it is *so* much nicer having specialized machinery for whatever discipline you're undertaking at the time.

Although I may have taken a heavy-weight adventure bike on single track, toured on a dirt bike and taken a sport-touring motorcycle on the track...

If you organize them correctly, you can pack 12 in a single bay.

We have a large work bench, tool box and drill press in there too. There's barely enough room to work on a bike, so usually one or two have to hang outside for the day.

Grab some Loctite Blue, any time a bolt shimmies itself loose it's a candidate.

Loctite Blue also protects against Loctite Orange.

I have a couple loose bolts (in my head).
I'm going to go by a second bike. Maybe a VStrom 800DE🤪

Since my old bikes don't have rev limiters I tell people the rev limiter is in my head and it's broken.

I miss old school rev limit by valve float. That was a much more visceral experience than banging into an electronic ceiling.

I had an old KZ650 (78?). It redlined around 9000 but it would pull strongly to over 11,000. I tried not to test that too often....

I do live in motorcycle fantasy land, where the roads are only straight for 2 gears.
I prefer having the excuse to go back to Thailand over and over. 🙂

It is done, got the hardware for free (Thanks brafasco)
