2012 Demo Days

If you want to actually get to ride more then one bike you need to go to a smaller city demo day. I scheduled a visit with my parents in Blenhiem on the same weekend the Yamaha demo tour was in Chatham at Bob's last weekend. Out of the 8 bikes there, I got to try 5 of them. In every road condition.
Agreed! You get quite lucky on the smaller locations. The Honda Powerhouse Demo Ride by Hurontario/Dundas(loc?) was the best one yet! Even though there were quite a bit of people, 20ish or so, I was able to ride 7 of the 10 bikes in a matter of 4hours! This was also due to efficient organizing done by the staff.

Triumph demo days at gpbikes was announced on the forum and they also sent a newsletter - May 22 to 26

Went to the Oshawa Harley Dealer yesterday. Great event, They had about 20 bikes in all. Well organized, just had to sign a waver and show them my licence. Took out a Fatboy Slim for a 5 - 7 minute ride around the GM plant. Very impressed with the bike. I will likely get one now based on that ride. Had to wait about 15 minutes for the ride and that one ride sold me. I could have gone back for more models but I figured they were mostly the same.

They have another ride in a week or two. Check it out.

They start at 10. I took half day on Wed, my time slot is 10 - earliest they start it.

Went to Kahuna this afternoon and got to ride the zf6r first and then the r6. It was really fun...The r6 was a fun bike to ride but I feel its more of a track bike than it is for cruising around or commuting. Staff was very friendly and answered any questions you may have regarding the bike etc.

I'll be checking out GP Bikes this friday for the Triumph demo ride and see how their bikes perform. Im in the market for buying a sports/sport touring bike so lets see what they have to offer. I'll see you guys there...

Re: 2012 Suzuki Demo Ride

Hey Slap,

Is there a Suzuki demo ride within the GTA? If so when? I remember going to one in Richmond Hill and Newmarket awhile back. I also checked their website and it doesn't state any Demo days for 2012, maybe they haven't updated it yet for this year. Still patiently waiting!!!

I don't think Newmarket will be doing one, and since the now own Richmond Hill, I wouldn't be surprised if they also don't have a demo ride. I asked them when I started working there 'cause I wanted to lead the rides and from what I understood was that they don't do demos Sorry

So how does it work with this magazine - you just show up? first come first served?

Re: 2012 Suzuki Demo Ride

Spoke to a guy at Yamaha of Newmarket. He mentioned they weren't doing a demo day and if not, likely Suzuki of Newmarket won't either. They are the same owners. He mentioned $21,000 for the event insurance.... With the prices of their parts and service I wonder how they couldn't afford it?? Did I ever mention they wanted $130 for a safety??

St Onge has a Yamaha demo going on today until 4

I went to Triumph demo ride at GP bikes and it went smoothly. Only difference between other demo rides was you had to give them your credit card information as they cover the first $2500. I got to demo their Street Triple R and Daytona 675. Both are fun to ride but was impressed with the Street Triple R. Great torque power especially when you hit 2nd gear and smooth shifting.

There was at most 7 of us in a group ride and we got to push it at the back countryside to test the acceleration and shifting. I still want to demo a Suzuki and Honda. I think Kahuna has a Kawasaki demo in June.

Milton Honda had a demo day on Saturday. It was fairly quiet early on.
Got to try the CB1000R and the CBR1000RR.
Quite impressed with the "double R" but I still don't know how people use this as their day-to-day bikes.

Re: 2012 Suzuki Demo Ride

I went to the Suzuki demo at Moto Mojo HQ last year. it was well organized, and was a decent route. If I'm not working saturday I'll be there for sure.
