Buying Selling on Kijiji woes

I used to love kijiji, and still do as a buyer. Selling on the other hand, is pure hell. I'm now making it a point for every twat that sends a "buy it right now for half of asking price" gets a reply to meet somewhere that I have no intentions of showing up for. **** 'em, act like a punk online and you can have your own time wasted instead of mine.

And what's with all the low ballers responding with "cash in hand"? Is that supposed to impress me? Did they think I was going to offer financing? Did they think I was going to trade for their old Duplo set?

And another thing, if someone offers a part for free to help you out (I'm not talking about hauling away their garbage, but an actual useful part), don't waste their time with requests for needless photos (a spring is a spring, a good fuel pump looks like a good fuel pump) or fail to show up after arranging for pick up. Congratulations, it's a bigger hassle to deal with you then to throw the part in the garbage, and equally profitable.

One more thing...If someone is selling a part which is available locally for viewing, please don't e-mail them a link to a single E-Bay ad somewhere in South Carolina for a similar part which is 10% cheaper and ask for a price match. I would gladly pay a few dollars more for the opportunity to view and inspect a wheel or gas tank prior to purchase, not to mention the savings in shipping.

^^^^^^^ good advice. Or tell them you will meet them at the closest gas station and ride the bike there. Have a friend with you too just in case lol.
plates were off, insurance turned off.

LOL. I love these "reasonably priced" guys. They're usually delusional about what their bike is worth. Don't like Kijiji? Or don't like the cold, hard reality of pricing hitting you in the face? A bike is not a necessity. People won't pay big for them and there are a thousand for sale every day. When I go to buy I look at several and the hardline jerks quickly fall out of the plan. What's it really worth? It is worth what people will pay for it.
Why are they jerks, because they priced the bike according to market and will not give it for free? I think in this situation you might be the jerk with that attitude.

So people are jerks because they are not willing to bend over to what others think is a reasonable price. I had people offer me 2500 for a 2010 gsxr 750 with 61k... who is the jerk? me or them?

lol jerk. At least mine wasn't stolen and returned back because of how ****** it was ;)
Although it was lady drivin

This used to be my signature, but Paulo didn't like it.

$2500 for that many km? Wow was it rebuilt at least once? Must be getting close to needing a second rebuild.

see post 152...
along with that, even supposedly reputable people on GTAM who you would think know better, and know the value of a motorcycle product still had the nerve to offer me half of my asking price on my barely used Dainese suit that was selling for 500 less than brand new. Nice try...

Can't comment about the suit but I think the boots you sold me where a good deal. Just used them today, still look good.

I sometimes respond to the low ballers after the thing is sold by responding "sold today at full asking price"

Kick it up a notch. Tell them you sold after bidding war. BAM!

The best thing to do is accept their offer and ask them when they can come pick it up. Then never respond back to them. Dirty

I offered a guy full asking price today on an item. Disclosure: Was buying for a coworker. But still.... Also, it is a fellow gtam'r, and it was priced really well. Maybe too well. Didn't get it, though. Was promised to another buyer.

first guy with cash at my door gets it. I've had a few unhappy ppl in the past with this, too bad and I make it clear when negotiating (been stung too many times with the "i'll take it and come pick it up this weekend" and then not have the person show up or change his mind, while other prospective buyers moved on)

Sometimes too fast bro.... I don't have any complaints but there should be some leeway

dang. so simple.

Just sold a car deck that had been sitting around for months for $20 less than my asking price. Buddy picked it up within 2 hours of posting the ad and I only had to walk about 20 ft. down the street Can't complain...
