Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after crash with moose

Police temporarily closed a section of Highway 11 for more than an hour Monday afternoon after a man riding a motorcycle collided with a moose.
Officials with the OPP say the man crashed into the moose while driving the motorcycle just after 1 p.m. near Kashabowie.
Police have not released the driver’s name or any details about his injuries.
The man was airlifted to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre following the crash

Man hurt in bike crash

A man was airlifted to hospital on Monday around 1 p.m. after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a moose in Kashabowie, northwest of Thunder Bay.
Highway 11 was closed for a short time while an air ambulance picked up the man, who was talking to emergency workers.
“It‘s a good sign that he‘s talking,” said Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Rod Brown.
The man, approximately 50 years old, was taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with undisclosed injuries and the highway was reopened.
No further details were available Monday.

I`ve seen many moose and even bear north of here on the bike always freaks me out.
Those are big animals that don`t get out of the way, hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

I was up that road in my cage a week ago and was actually hoping to see some wildlife. Unfortunaly I didn't, unfortunately you did!
