Big story in the news lately, just want to see what people have to say. Personally she's a total idiot who should of kept her mouth shut. She exploded and turned it into something nasty, but I see NO issue with someone requesting a white Doctor. If none are available then leave. Nobody should decide who will look at my health other than myself, and if I'm only comfortable with a white Doctor than so be it. Some woman are only comfortable with woman doctors, and some men only want men doctors. It's all a personal preference and race is a factor for some just like gender is. And no, that's not being racist

The problem seems to be systemic inequity in the facilitating the treatment of mental illness.

If you have an innate fear of another sex, no problem.

The problem is she ranted and raved about it. Had she simply asked and just left, you would have never heard about it.

But that clinic is absolute garbage. Been a few times when nothing else is available, and the doctors are trash. They also happen to be non white. Just facts. Correlation not causation?

Last time my wife went there the doc took 2 cell phone calls while she was with him, and then googled her symptoms. Honestly I'd avoid the place like a plague. I'd drive however far necessary to see different doctors.

Maybe "someone" should invite her to their house to meet their family and to have break fast.:D
 
When I need a doctor I couldn't personally care what colour they are, or their nationality. If they have the piece of paper on the wall somewhere proving the fact they're actually a doctor, hey, works for me.

I have of course met doctors I didn't like much or I thought were jerks, but I make the judgement based on their attitude or behaviour, nothing more.

Thay was to "break fast" not have break fast.
That would have been a 9pm dinner iirc.
I'm curious how does one do the Ramadan fast if they are diabetic? Wouldn't their blood sugar drop? My coworker gets up extremely early and carbloads to last him until he breaks fast.

A few weeks ago I went to see a skin specialist. The receptionist/nurse kept coming in and out of the room while on the phone. Left the door open during my consult, and when I asked the dr about other issues I was told 1 issue per appointment. It was like they were just trying to get you out of there. Don't know his nationality and I don't care. I will never be going back there.

I know what I wrote break fast.

btw that is the new scam of the younger doctors and the others...bill OHIP for every damn thing...same reason they wont fax your basic rx to shoppers...they want you to come in so they can write it for you and charge OHIP.

My family doc is younger-ish (probably late 30's early 40's I'd say) and he's awesome. ALWAYS amazingly on time (I've literally never sat in his waiting room more than 5 minutes), sees me before office hours on request so I can get in and out before work, and yeah, he will call in RX's for me on request providing they are refills or something he knows I have taken before, is routine, that sort of thing.

Shout out to Dr. Moola in Bowmanville. ;)
 
Study the same things. Pass similar courses. Take the same oath. But skin color is gonna change the outcome. Cause ya know, becoming a Dr is easy and anybody can become one right?

Maybe she should go study to be a Dr to become the Dr she's been looking for.
 
All the racist stuff aside I've been.in that clinic, total joke...

The clinic declined to comment because it's full of scheming shiiit heads who are just in the medical profession to hose Ohip for dough , that I'm sure of

Let's see...I've had Chinese, Jewish, Black, Muslim, white and woman primary doctors over the years. ...and a few more at clinics.

So which ones were better than others? Don't worry it's not racist to discuss it.

If we compiled data from the md review websites and it showed that doctors of a certain ethnicity simply get better reviews, will that be racist?

What about the country where the population is not white? Is the whole country suffering from lack of proper medical services?

I work in mfg'ing. We have immigrants who were practicing medicine back home, but now they are putting in widgets on the assembly line. B/c the process to get recognized here was too difficult. So getting a doc license is not that easy.
