Seems like Ontario has worse drivers than Russia

Where the heck is that? I want to stay as far away from there as possible when in the general vicinity.

Intentional 100% ... SUV driver was waiting for the right moment to make a "move". This is how some people make money out of insurance payouts.

no... you have it all wrong.. driver thought the bus shelter was the entrance to the underground park for the walmat

Yonge and Finch.

That's the kind of area where you look over at the driver and say to yourself "I thought so"

This is my own

Unfortunately for the best example I could have, my camera wasn't working. There was a situation in which a pickup and I were side-by side in the northbound lanes of Church Street, at Dundas. The light went green and we both hit the gas and then had to stand on our brakes just past the crosswalk as a cyclist, with no lights or reflective gear and wearing black, was suddenly in front of us cutting across on Dundas. This was at around 5:45am. He's only alive because we were, unlike him, actually awake.

I saw the two girls waiting to cross from the other side of the road but when the light turned green and I didn't see them, I thought they changed their mind.

This nonsense happened yesterday. Made it to the middle of the intersection before he realized. Then tried to reverse BACK to the line.

Cruise control, maybe?

Cruise control on every car I've owned shuts itself off if vehicle speed drops abnormally. Messed-up driver, on the other hand ... Or perhaps simply an automatic transmission still in drive and the car still creeping ... maybe the driver freaked out and hit the accelerator instead of the brake. They likely had a face full of airbag at the time.

There's plenty of blame to go around there. The driver that eventually restarted and did the subsequent hits had run the red, and the driver that turned left failed to wait for the intersection to actually clear before doing so.

Some newer cars have a collision-mitigation system that automatically applies the brakes after an impact to hopefully reduce subsequent impacts. It's not a bad idea. An impact can throw the driver's feet around in addition to messing with the driver's mind.
