This is good info. Any idea if dirtbike insurance counts as "consecutive uninterrupted motorcycle insurance"? ... as dirtbikes don't have liability for the road? If they do count as motorcycle insurance, it's another good strategy to use as it's quite cheap to insure a green plated dirtbike. There's a way around the 6 month lapse...........rent for 1 day, and pay for insurance.
This info is 1 week old, from a retired insurance company underwriter.
Taking it further, does fire and theft cover "consecutive uninterrupted motorcycle insurance"... or does it have to be insured with liability? This would help a rider who's toying with the idea of getting out of the sport by storing the bike while making the decision.
If yes and yes then fire and theft on a dirtbike would be an excellent strategy as it would be ~ $50 / year.
