Return of Ford Nation

Good chance the union folks will vote her in again... most for no reason other than their union told them to.

The next provincial election will once again be a case of trying to figure out who is least worse.
Sad state of affairs, IMO.

Word of the Day: Intaxication - That brief period of euphoria you feel between receiving a tax refund and then realizing it was your money to begin with.

People here actually believe an uneducated carnival barker is going to even remotely address the complex issues facing Ontario? OMG too funny. Liberal majority, again.

Taxation is theft, Baggsy.

Or your personal history being one of north Etobicoke's biggest hash dealers.

why do you think he is coming to prov politics now....the libs already gave him a monopoly for distribution.

Create a platform that is socially liberal while being fiscally accountable/conservative and appoint a rational person as your leader.

How f**kin hard is that!?

I wish... we live in a world where this is becoming increasingly impossible. The parties have more or less decided where they stand, with the Liberal party being (theoretically) as close to that balance, which is why they have earned that 'natural ruling party' moniker.

Good infrastructure is incredibly expensive, as are social safety nets and it's what makes Ontario a very good place to live. We have low unemployment and a high standard of living. If you can't make it here...

We put SFA into our electrical grid for 20 years and were paying for it now.

I travel a lot, and once you start to gain perspective on how others live it's very easy to see how myopic (and selfish) people can get.

As far as stating taxation is theft, especially in an advanced and civilized country, only word I have is parasite.

Then Ontario deserves him and the upheaval and chaos to come. I'll survive, will some of the others?

Funny, i recall something similar said about Rob Ford running Toronto..*looks around*. Yep, still here.

Rob Ford cost Toronto far more than he purported to save. I can't even...

But did you manage to survive the upheaval and chaos? That's all we're really talking about right?

True, socialism is expensive - in Ontario, 1 out of 10 adults (762,000) was on the public teat in December. That's more than double the rate of the USA. That's just social assistance, it doesn't count those working in gov't.

We have artificially low unemployment. The public sector adds jobs at about the same rate the province's private sector loses jobs. Despite good economic times, the Ontario liberal government is masking employment numbers -- their role in the economy is to stimulate job growth, not fudge it.

I've been fortunate to see most of the world, and live in several countries. Ontario is in the top 2 places I've lived -- I'm not so sure that rank can sustain itself if we continue to Greek our economy.

Can't make this stuff up.

Got another for you:

As far as I know, most of Council spent all of their time trying to sabotage and get rid of him, they did managed to take away his powers. In the meantime the city went to ..... So how exactly was it his fault, and not theirs?
