Ram 1500 Eco Diesel Review

I've got a 2015 Ram 1500 Big Horn with the EcoDiesel engine, stock gearing and 20" tires. Only just breaking it in, its got about 2000km on it and so far 10.9ltrs/100km is the average. This is with mostly city driving and some hwy, I'd say 80% city and 20% hwy, don't have exact calculations for the split though.

That is incredible mileage! My HHR gets anywhere from 8.5L-9.1L/100kms combined depending on the season etc. For a half ton truck to get that fuel economy is really something.

Once you get to about 8-10 K it will make a big change. The best I could get HWY up to then was 8.1L/100. After 15,000Km's I did see 6L/100 on the Hwy. [To qualify,,heavy tail wind and no hills] ON the Hwy now [22,000Km] I get average 7-8 L/100. Just city I get 9's and city Hwy I average high 8's.
Towing my trailer,,,I average about 18L/100. Average right now from new towing 25 weekends this year including Nova Scotia 15.6L/100
The highest towing was 22L/100 In New Brunswick.Lowest towing was 12.9.[big tail wind] I have the 3.9 rear end and stock rubber.
Best Hwy gas mileage was at 100KPH.
