never got not wearing white after labor day. What was the background of that? Or a red dress to a wedding, background? I'm sure half of it was made up to make the upper class seem "better" about themselves.

wedding guests should wear whats appropriate to the day, at its core its a serious ceremony , and often takes place in a church.

now if its second or third time around for the couple and your pretty sure you'll be banging a groomsman in the coat room by 11pm, rock that dress.

If your not an attention whore needing to be the center of something, you may wish to rethink that fashion choice. If the reception features pole dancing its just fine.
