Help Me To Understand

I attended a sport bike meet over the weekend, having ridden and currently riding a sport bike for more than 30 years I just don't understand why so many riders ride up with the clutch in and the throttle pinned.

People do this on demo rides too. Some one should tell them they act like ****ing idiots.

Some historical perspective...

80s era bikes had very lean idle circuits and engines took a while to warm up, so blipping was an attempt not to stall. Plus, many riders put on badazz pipes and didn't re-jet, which also screwed up carburation.

None of it makes any sense in the last decade or more.

I can't stand listening to an unloaded motor scream... It sends chills down my spine! All I can think of is those poor crank bearing cages rattling loose.
Blipping the throttle was popular way back when 2 strokes were ported to the point that they would only run at high rpm... Morons watch these racers and figure they need to do the same to be cool on their street bikes.

Or you can just sit back and hope for this.....
