European Frame import

Has anyone imported a frame from Europe and managed to register it in Ontario? Specifically Ducati.

Any questions I pose to RIV or DOT, basically point fingers at each for responsibility.

@bitzz seems to collect unobtanium frames from around the world.

How old is the bike? If you are trying to import a bike that isn't old and license it for the street, I expect huge obstacles.

Go through the RIV online checklist, it tell you whether you even need to use RIV based on the age.

17 Digit VIN ? You're going to have to jump through a lot of hoops.
If it's older you can likely slide it past Service Ontario without too much trouble.

RIV is Canadian, DOT is american.
If the frame was sold in Europe it will have neither... so you have to "match" the euro frame to a RIV number.
Was a comparable bike sold here? If the bike was sold as a street bike pretty well anywhere it is eligible to be imported into Canada. If it's older than 25 years (IIRC) it can be "grandfathered" in

Imported as 'motorcycle parts' - Canada Customs likely won't care much.
