If you're looking for low maintenance sport tourer with FI and Shaft and lighter than an ST1300, my favorite is the FJR 1300. 90lbs less than an ST1300, cheap maintenance, and bulletproof dependability. You can also ride it without luggage.
It's reasonable to expect well maintained FJR to run past 200,000KM - many without a major repair. You can find 03's for less than $3, and about $5k for 04-07 with relatively low mileage.
Shaft drive is going to restrict the options, it's basically a bigger-bike feature.
If you can drop a decade off and go european, the same guy is also selling a K1. Side note, that has to be the smallest integrated luggage ever produced.
It's the lightest feeling 590 lb bike out there. I swapped with a friend, and busa and vfr are damn near same weight, but the vfr felt 150 lbs lighter. Weight is slung really low.
