Avivva behaving badly?

Optics are pretty horrendous. It will be interesting to see if court finds issues (and if so if they deliver a meaningful ass whooping).

"OTLA has learned that Aviva hired government insurance adjudicator, Thérèse Reilly, when she was employed with the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT), the quasi-judicial body that handles insurance claims disputes. At issue is the troubling revelation that Reilly was offered and accepted a position with Aviva Insurance in June 2022 but stayed with the LAT until November of that year, rendering more than ten decisions, all in favor of insurance companies, including Aviva Insurance."

Sounds like Reilly was behaving badly and Aviva was just playing the typical capitalist, taking whatever advantage it could find.

This sounds like the beginning of another "what happens to people like this" thread, where there will be no outcome, a 500 page report will be created by gov, that basically covers their butts, but avoids any accountability.

You missed the part where everyone gets paid a ton of money in the process of creating this report :p

Oh, you people are so suspicious. Imagining that the insurance industry and the Licence Appeal Tribunal might be in cahoots and somehow biased against the poor schmucks who buy insurance in good faith and expect, God help them, to actually collect on a legitimate claim.

I expect, as mentioned above, that there will a very careful and comprehensive investigation done, a leave no stone unturned kind of thing....... and that all involved will be absolved of any fault.
