hurt my knee several years ago but I managed with it instead of seeking a doctors help. big mistake. The last year it has gotten a lot worse and so I got myself a family doctor after 30 years without one. So I get an mri and the results are ligament damage and joint damage. My family doctor mentions the possibility of knee joint replacement but he isn't the surgeon. unofficial.
I am now waiting for an appointment with the surgeon. I have been waiting now about 3 months just for my first office visit with this surgeon. I still don't even have an appointment date...waiting.
My doctor says I am on a list. and after seeing the surgeon will likely be waiting more than a year for my surgery.
Anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to speed up this process? I walk with a limp and the pain is bad enough that I now try to avoid walking on concrete or asphalt. going down stairs is a pitiful site. ideas?
