who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon

Re: who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon & TT250

You don't ride a spec sheet. This bike compares favourably with Retina IMac and Iphone.

That's what I'm hearing too. I'm not convinced though, most Macs are fuel injected...

Their bikes seem just a step above a scooter. If that's all you want and the machine will fulfill your performance requirements then, "fill your boots" as my mom used to say.

At the same time, the fact that they have done what's necessary to meet California emissions standards indicates that they are trying to assume a position in the marketplace for the long term. I imagine that was a significant investment.

While it's not a bike I would consider owning I hope the company is successful and their customers are happy, and really you can't have the former without the latter.

Re: who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon & TT250

Ummm "scooters" run as high as $11k ...not much point to that comparison let alone its use category.

They are trying a direct to consumer sales model.

For it to work the machines must be reliable. One thing good for me for Australia ( if and when I can get one there ) is the dual electric start and kickstart. 330 lb weight capacity...great little run around bike for many purposes.
Only 309 lb

It's not particularly light weight so likely a durable chassis and it's a full sized frame.

The TT 250 is an air-cooled, 5-speed, dual-sport motorcycle designed for both highway and offroad use. The motorcycle weighs 309 lbs, it has both electric and kick starting, and it has a counterbalanced engine.

The TT 250 has a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel for superior off-road performance.

Hydraulic disk brakes are standard equipment, as are inverted forks and adjustable rear suspension.

Like the RX3, CSC is including handlebar-controlled accessories outlets under the seat and a 300-watt alternator as standard equipment.

The CSC TT 250 will be available in three colors: White with orange TT lettering, black with silver lettering, and red with silver lettering.

Those are a good feature set.

One of my riding buddies who is an engineer redid his offroad Honda 650 for dual kick and electric.

Farmers, cottagers, new riders - lots of demand if the buzz catches and the quality is reasonable and they keep the price down.

I can see a very strong segment for a sub $2k bike in the US where insurance is cheap

Kid will use it here for commuting

The suspension travel reminds me of the 70's dirt bikes my friends all had before the travel doubled. I'm thinking if you want to win a desert race or be the next Robbie Madison this is not the ride for you, but consider at the cost of a 8-10 yr old TW or XL 200-250, you get a brand new bike with a parts warranty that coming out of the crate that didn't get ridden by 4 guys through rivers and snow drifts.

To get across town to school, out to the back of the farm or 30 miles out into the desert to see an Indian pueblo ruin, this is a good tool at the price. 90% of my offroading is done at 30kph or under.

I think the folks that understand the limitations, and have no asperations of doing a global circumnavigation this bike is ok. Our North American mindset that if its not a 28k BMW GS (most of which will never see a mud puddle) you'll never make it to the campsite. (that you can see from the paved highway)

I'm not easily swayed but after reading some of the latest jingoism I would definitely buy one of these. That they're from China, slow and cheap as dirt is great because I'm slow, cheap and dirty. And Chinese? Who doesn't like imports? Steve McQueen used to ride Husky.

You can get scooters that will do well over 200 kph so I fail to see how the type of vehicle has anything to do with performance.

I would've just laughed at this as a joke if I hadn't seen the thread earlier where the guy is afraid to buy a bike that was "offroaded" by riding on a gravel road and a bunch of guys agreed with him and were asking who does that on a sportbike.

I met Steve McQueens ex wife (third I think) a couple years ago. She's remarried but still keeps the McQueen last name. Trading on legacy, like a Husky now made in Austria, just moved from Italy. Why didn't they just go to China?

Re: who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon & TT250

Good question. They're obviously leaving money on the table.

Spoke to the rep today and there will be a list of add on items like bash plates you can have fitted prior to shipping.

AKT 250 TT is from the same manufacturer with somewhat different feature set. That I think tho might be the water cooled adventure version equivalent to the RX3.

There are more videos on this model as has been out for a bit.

Was pleasantly surprised at braided stainless brake lines on the CSC TT250

Crankcall

nailed it...and I think there will be some nifty add ons that will be available soon from the factory.
They've been around for 20 years, make 4000 motors a day....supply Piaggo and Vespa....
I think they picked a spot for entry

Re: who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon & TT250

If the TT250 was $1895 CAD, I would buy one. The CBR125 was $1999, so I don't see why they couldnt sell it for roughly the same price.

Re: who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon & TT250

The CBR 125 was $3395 Cdn ....not sure where you get your prices...late model still sitting at $3k on kiji

Re: who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon & TT250

They (honda) were clearing out old stock 125cbr's at that price. Have one, and ring its neck often!

They had clearance sales on them so often that I didn't even realize the normal price was over $3k. Any time I looked at them there was a sale going for under $2k.

Re: who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon & TT250

The $2k discounted price was back when the CAD was worth more than a couple American pennies too.

Re: who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon & TT250

May as well get an extra one as a parts bike.

Would be inclined to purchase a used Honda CRF250 L or Kawasaki KLX 250 or the best in class Yamaha WR250R, they'll be running long time after this thing is disposed.

Re: who will take a chance ??? CSC RX3 Cyclon & TT250

all more money than this used, no warranty and you have no basis for that claim.

The company has been around for 20 years, produces 4,000 motors a day for a variety of other manufacturers like Vespa and Piagio
