We gave our old TV to my Mom and so now we don't have one. We don't even have cable or satellite - we only watch streamed or downloaded shows. I know I don't want a smart TV because this won't be hooked up to internet.

Looking for around 46" in size and must have audio out, so I can plug it into larger sound system.
I'm also going to buy a 2nd TV for my Mother-In-Law that is around 36".
I'm not brand loyal at all - just looking for good quality.
I will look for 1080p and LED - tis all I really know.

Any suggestions on where to get a great deal for two for this Black Friday - Mississauga area preferred?
Thanks!

Costco deals suck. Bestbuy had a tv for sale, but the sale price was the regular price at costco... so I'm in different at the deals. I don't think there will be anything great.

Was just coming back to edit. Checked it out and the Costco prices are good for regular days.
BestBuy.ca is down until 11pm. They may post better deals at that time.
Will keep checing the sales, as my MIL needs a 32" tv as well. cc: @shanekingsley

Hey the TV I just parted with was made in 1987 - so anything is an upgrade right now.

I think I am going to go to 2001 Audio/Video - they are locally owned and I would rather give my money to them than a big box even if I have to pay more.

Plus, that store started out as a reggae and disco record shop at Dovercourt and Bloor in the early 70's!!

Not really an upgrade when you are watching porn. Blocky and pixelated the girls probably look a lot better than they do in high def. You can see the HIV moles etc...

I am looking for a 50 inch tv also
was looking at the bestbuy flyer for the Nikon D5000 series with 2 lenses
Is that a decent deal???

Get a Nexus Player ($69 Chapters online) to go with your TV and your streaming experience will have a lot of options. You can also get Netflix on it (well worth the monthly fee) and stream from your phone to the TV (handy for VPN switching) I got two for our house a month or so ago and promptly cancelled my cable subscription 3 days later. As for the TV, make sure it has enough HDMI ports for any expansion you might think of. At least 3 is good.

Ended up buying Sony 55" from costco. It wasn't worth my time fighting it out for $100. Warranty was $56. Worth it imo.

Usually if you are using a sound system you won't have audio out going from your TV - unless you have coax plugged into the back of your TV and need to send that audio to your sound system, there's no need. And just out of curiosity, how do you watch streamed content if you aren't hooking up to the internet??

All tvs from Costco come with an additional year of warranty for free. The $56 is for the third year iirc. Also one of the best return policies, just in case. If you have the executive membership you get 2% back.
