R6 street handling?

Thought about that but why was it on all the others none of these complaints were an issue?

I find the vibration on the handles bars to be and issue granted it's not stock bar ends.
If it hasn't been said already:

Bar ends (ask for Extra Heavy): http://www.hvmp.com/

Tech spec's (I recommend snake skin): https://bluestreakracing.ca/2006-2007-r6-tank-grips.html?___SID=U (remember to squeeeeze with your kneeees).

Saddlemen "Tech" Seat (memory foam + gel): http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Saddlemen-Ge...113-/261504751900?hash=item3ce2e5d91c&vxp=mtr

GSXR600 and 750 are the same bike....

And its the most comfortable 600SS on the market right now. Next would be the Honda. However, SS isnt meant for street/commuting.

I'm going for dual sport for street next season. Test ride one, and loved it.

Fully agree. For comfort- 1) GSXR 2) CBR 3) Kawi 4) Yami.

I owned an 08 R6 from 2008 to 2011, put 30,000 on it. Bought it because it was the most dangerous looking SS. Found it very uncomfortable cruising in and around the city. It's tiring to ride as every mm of throttle movement results in twitchy accel or decel in the city which means your almost thinking about smooth throttle control while cruising in a straight line. The only comfortable way to ride it is fast- so your weight is off the bars and knees. Found the wideness of the seat would cut into the inside of your legs after awhile. My opinion.

But.....I do miss it.

I got a bauce flash so no issue with it being twitchy at least not more twitchy then other ss.

It's the seating position and I agree I went for a spirited ride recently and it feels better going fast.

I take it back. I love the r6. Amaze balls on track
A hammer isn't very good for turning a nut but it's great for driving nails

glad to hear it. I just put a deposit down on an R6 and I'm picking it up Mon or Tues. Moving up from an SV650, which I really love the ride quality/feel/handling of, but it's just not fast enough on the highway. Looking forward to booting around town and possibly some track days in the future as well.

If you find the on/off throttle super twitchy, bike just cooks you around town, no throttle response or power down low, etc. there's some cheap fixes for that.

Never said it was slow. Just that it'll run out of revs sooner since the redline is much lower on the SV.

From what I can find, the SV only weighs 20 lbs more than the R6. Although I guess that's about 5% of the weight but once you add the weight of a rider the difference drops to like 3%.

WHOA! whatcho tryin to say!I'm heavy ?

Thanks for the headsup. I got lucky though, as the hike came premodded and pretty perfect for what I'm looking for. It has headers, different sprockets for low end torque (have to count the teeth to see what the number are), and a power commander and some other little stuff, so it's very smooth and very useable in town as well as on the highway.

my only complaint is that I can't flatfoot the bike (I'm 5'9") but I'm just slightly off, so it's not so bad. The seat is wide enough that I can ride for a couple hours and still not be sore.

new? Just wondering because the bike is going on nearly 10 years now without major changes, its pretty awesome considering how it still looks great and not out of date even up against bikes that were just updated recently but at this point in its life span I wouldn't pay the premium for brand new.
