When are you taking your bikes out?

I was aiming for the second week of April, i just bought my first bike and the wait is killing me.
The bike is all ready to go, insured and plated, got a little tune up, now just sitting for better weather.
Everyone i have talked to keeps telling me to wait especially since I'm new.

Lol I saw quite a few patches of ice on corners of intersection and parking lots, definitely want to be safe but nothing invisible like black ice. Best of luck on your course.

Thanks. At least I don't have to get there early to install batteries and try to cold start them. :d

All of the instructors will be out in the next few weeks doing their re-certifications before classes start. Brrr.

Same goes with me. I am content waiting. This cold weather and wet rain plus the temperature dropping below 0 is not helping at all.... Hopefully by good Friday the temperature is decent.. For a quick lil ride.

Went riding yesterday. It was nice.

I'm down to go for a short ride today if anyone wants

I see why now lol.... after reading it again, English not my first language and really didn't give much attention when writing, apologies.

i just feel it looks slightly stupid/anti social riding alone. But I have a dinner to go to so I need to make it out.

I picked up my bike from the shop tonight in -12 C windchill with a little bit of flurries. It felt a lot colder than that at speed as my hands started to feel numb after about 15 minutes but it was worth it. I don't see the weather getting better in the next few days so I'd rather have my bike in my garage now so I can work on it.

As of now, I will be riding all weekend. Hope it doesn't snow too much.

i went out for a rip yesterday. just a short one. had to make sure the bike was all ready and setup. checked all fluids just rode around my neighbourhood. gawd, i miss it.

Yep... Going out tonight again for a party, have to pick up a passenger too, god it's freezeing!

Are you running heated grips / gloves? I have an appointment half way across the city and really dont feel like taking the TTC but dont have any heated gear for my hands.

City driving could be bearable with insulated gloves. Highway speeds, no way.

Exactly I have the VR Pro Velocity Heated gloves, I havent even been turning them on any more. I just wear them instead of my Alpine starts and I'm good. My longest ride is 30-40 minutes in the city- no highway speeds. Tops 70-80 km/h maybe. My normal commute is 20 minutes each way. I've been ok and haven't really stopped riding since Christmas eve.

Under armor pants under my jeans and a good thick sweatshirt under my jacket with a scarf or neck warmer takes care of me. I'm generally good and comfortable. Occasionally depending on the length of the ride, as well as the temperature I get off my bike and I'm just like "H0|y $h!t! I'm a bit chilly- that was ok, definitely fun." Always better to be riding then taking the TTC.
