What is your favourite 600?(including 636)

Honestly they are all the same lol Good fun for sure, telepathic handling, need to rev high (and go fast) to get the most power but the midrange is perfectly adequate. All of them can do the 1/4 mile in the 11s range easy. I'll be going 1000 or something else torqueier for the street but would use a 600 at the track. I don't like cruising at such a high rpm but the riding position I actually prefer. And yes I've ridden naked bikes etc.

I do really want to ride a Daytona though before I make any decisions

Did the cabot trail in 10 hours. With an hour stop for lunch. 1050km ride. :)

So an average speed of 116km/h (1050/9) on a machine capable of over 200km/h? yep definitely different definition lol

I'm not saying 600s just blow up, but they don't last as long as lower revving lower horsepower machines...share all the anecdotes you want

If you want to actually learn to ride and not just go for the ride, stay on the smaller bike longer n do a track day. If you want to just pose with a nice bike get a 600.

I severely doubt that

Wrong. Period.

that's cute, but your little meaningless anecdote doesn't counter common sense, nice try.

are there a bunch of butthurt little ******* in here that think I'm dissing their 600s or something? I have two SS bikes, an 08 daytona 675 and an 03 cbr 600rr which is track only...they're wonderful machines, but stressed engines that rev wear out faster than engines that make less hp/liter and don't rev...it's just simple physics and metal properties

you can overbuild something to last longer than it usually would, but then they would be pricier than bigger bikes too

If anything they would last even longer. You cruise on the hwy at like 8k rpms and it tops at like 16k. Can't baby it anymore than that. There's a guy on the CBR forum that has an 03 f4i with 450k MILES on it. He travels and tracks it. So how is it not blown up?

A lot of dope answers thanks for explains why you like those bikes U picked..and Benny U defiantly ride a 250 or lower lol that's cool tho seeing how u said ppl that buy 600s are trying to just pose and ride proper

I have a 2010 Yamaha FZ6R...not a super sport, but a sport touring so you sit more upright...and I've taken it to Bancroft and beyond many a time this past season with no problems...it goes fast enough to keep up to an FZ1, and good enough for me in the twisties (I don't need to touch my knees to the ground thanks)...good on fuel (300 km/tank) and looks great IMO...but as a few others have said, it's all personal taste and what you want out of a bike...go to the shows, sit on a few and try to test ride some next spring if possible...good luck in your search...

Who in their right mind would want to spenda grand to fix a 13 year old bike?
Why wouldn't you spend a grand on a bike like this...

I have ridden and owned many bikes. But I acknowledge the value of learning on a smaller bike.

Also if you only have an m2 you cannot test ride any 600cc+ supersport.

Didn't you upgrade from a 250 after a few months? Lol

Yes I did but then downgraded again. Which is exactly why I'm one of the best people to give advice in this case. 600 for the street is pointless and boring. I learned more, faster on the small bikes than anything else. That's why I ride, to learn to be proficient and skilled in the sport. Its funny that most of the people with 600s I ride with are new to them and are not nearly able to control them like the people that are riding the 250/300s.

I'm not saying stay with a 300 forever just saying you haven't outgrown it in the 3 months you have been riding. Take it to a track day. Its more fun than a 600.

So again why post if you already know everything? 600s blow up and in 3 months you're rossi. You argue what everyone is trying to tell you which means you have it all figured out. Excuse me while I grab the popcorn.

You clearly have not ridden the cabot trail. I don't speed through towns. Why don't you come to CTMP and try to keep up. :)

Do you understand what we're actually debating here? Riding deftly is not the same thing as abusing the machine...

Doing 30 laps at WSIR once a month where the bike sees 150mph once per lap could be construed as hard use for a 600, riding at slow speed on the street (no matter how well you're riding) is not hard on it.

A sport touring bike with an engine that isn't as stressed will last longer than a pure sports bike like a 600 for street use; this is the point I was making, that longevity IS a factor and a reason not to buy a 600 for this guy, and you guys took it as an affront to your machines.

No idea what CTMP is, but if it's some Ontario track, sure, if there is a day going in the next month, PM me and I'll come out
