Now that customer cars are starting to run down the track the numbers are coming in pretty darn good.

Bone stock on stock tires auto C7 has run 11.5's at 120mph. Very nice numbers for a $60k car.

Finally saw one in the flesh today. Looks better in person. Esp the rear end.

The doors still have that cheap GM feel to them when you open and shut them. If you are familiar with GM products, you will know what I mean.

The trick door handles are neat, but can see them malfunctioning in no time.

People actually are willing to wait 1 year for this thing?

For the enthusiasts..... according to the owner, its a "2014 Corvette 3LT Z51 Stingray"

Nice in black but I'll never have another black one.

Z06 gets revealed monday, looks like the power was leaked at 620hp/650tq. That'll be helpful in getting groceries........

I've seen a couple on the road, and I think GM nailed it with this. Looks great, performance is fantastic.

Well, lets see whats going on with the "new GM".

"our greatest displeasure has been the cars downtime at the dealer for repairs, and we have some day-to-day complaints as well"........

-blown engine at only 6000 miles (check the Stingray forums, others are having the same issue)
-We’ve also noticed some notchiness with the shift linkage in the lower gears regardless of how careful we are with the clutch.
-Long stints behind the wheel are marred by significant road noise
-the footwells that can get overly toasty in city traffic

-7 speed manual shift gates "should be better defined"
-complaints about the lousy seats
-airbag modules replaced
-MyLink sucks
-"we’ve already had to visit the dealer for the central infotainment screen, which would occasionally flash wildly between menus and freeze up entirely."

Nothing new here folks, be a proud owner and enjoy the privilege of being on a first name basis with your GM service department.

Typical business as usual for GM.

Let's level the playing field, shall we.

2014 Honda Accord: (from car complaints dot com)

1)The real problem here is if in heavy traffic, the engine appears to die and one slams down the accelerator, because you need to move, the engine comes to life with a roar that is too fast for heavy traffic. I've only had the car since 1-10-14, but I tremendously dislike this "characteristic".

2) This is the 2nd of two 2014 Honda Accord Coupes that I owned with identical problems. They leak fuel into the Engine block. The excess fuel ends up in the oil pan, diluting the oil and raising its level above the full mark.
Honda Canada has been stonewalling me for over 4 months.
The car I am reporting on, I purchased on Feb 18/14. I traded the first one in at a $6000.00 loss because of the lies I was told by Honda Canada.
As of this date April 24/14, they (Honda Canada ) has made no effort to fix the problem.
Now it has another problem, The oil level keeps dropping, no signs of leaking?? It has dropped about 1/4 inch in the last week.

3) Hesitation (unexpected acceleration) occurs intermittently at low speed. When the car is at a low speed and more power is needed and the accelerator is pressed there is no response initially; accelerator is then pressed more and the car then accelerates much more than was expected, resulting in a jerky, on/off type action.

4) The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 mph vehicle suddenly accelerated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was unable to be diagnosed. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 4,200.

Bottom line ............no one makes a perfect vehicle, and Honda has lost it's edge imo in the last decade.
I've owned at least one Honda since 1980.
My next new car won't be a Honda, or a GM.

They are all made with piss poor quality these days anyways regardless of who makes it.

And i own a Corvette, a new F150 and a Kia product.

LOL

These owner-reported complaint sites (a.k.a. internet forums) are notorious for people only telling part of the story, or being hyper-sensitive, or not understanding how their vehicle works.

Like, maybe, if you are heavy traffic, maybe you shouldn't be burying your size 14 steel toe work boot in the accelerator pedal. The accelerator does have positions between 0 and 1. I have a fix for that person. He should drive a 1981 Plymouth Aries 2.2 automatic. You could be 3 cars back at a traffic light, mash the accelerator all the way to the floor the moment the first electrons reach the green light bulb, you will not spin the tires, you will not hit the car in front of you. The dampened throttle linkage gently opens the throttle, the heavy-flywheeled engine slowly builds up revs, the low-slip torque converter gradually starts transmitting feeble torque to the overly-tall-geared transmission, and the car gently begins to move :)

There is not a vehicle out there for which people won't complain about *something*. Like the guy who complains the new Vette is noisy. Maybe he should have bought a Cadillac. Or a Rolls-Royce.

LOL.
Dodge Aries.
Plymouth Reliant. :p

Of course people like to complain.
If the auto industry made vehicle to "last", there really wouldn't be much of an "industry", would there?
That's why "I" stated: no one makes a perfect vehicle.

I'll come to anyone's defense. Even GM. Even Honda.
They all have positive & negative attributes.
That can't be denied.
Reading all the Corvette / GM negativity is getting rather old.

My friend bought a 2012 last generation body style for the Subaru Imprezza stock model with 170hp 170tq
That seems to be a solid well made car.
The only issues found on the base model (or non turbo versions) were one of the front stabilizer bars were premature rust so they did a recall.

Mass produced will have problems with the odd one here and there BUT it is up to the company to take care and replace their lemons.

There it is. Every manufacturer has had a bad model. Even exotics. Example, if I could ever have the spare loot to keep it going I'd love a Ferrari 348. Biggest pos they ever made but possibly one of the nicest to look at. Corvettes in the early 8th were gross and slow. Today's car is nothing short of spectacular for its price tag. The new ones have grown on me even though I wasn't a fan at first. A Honda fanboy bashing a corvette is just laughable. Even the mighty nsx doesn't compare so until they bring out a model that makes it past a development car that can produce any kind of power then I'd be sticking to my hedge trimmer and being quiet.
:D
