Tmp tomorrow/sat

Which Racer5 day did you do? I was there for stage 1 and 2, in Andrews group. Pretty fun course and gives you a good foundation for skills. Fawaz ensures of lots of track time too.

i did stage 4, fawaz is good people for sure, always treated me quite well. its a great learning experience for anyone who wants to go faster.

yeah im trolling, kellen is good people i like him, tim on the other hand is questionable ;)

I got a 10 minute red group video made from the chase cam mounted at the back of my bike. got all the good stuff of people trying to get past me and compiled it all together complete with 2 crashes. I just need someone to upload it for me.

most of the footage was:

red bike 310
blue bike with fake headlights
ghost buster 236
and the blue and white gsxr 1000 guy who thinks hes fast.

also anyone know why my rear end was swinging back and fourth so much. too soft... to hard... bad rebound?

removed the metzler m3 tires after the low slide and threw on Dunlup race dot scrubs which helped a bit but was still hard to get through rough sections of pavement.

here is the low res teaser till i can get the good copy up. says i need 600 minutes to upload a gig so....

Maybe I should get a lap timer
You can borrow mine. I have never used it.

Rebound problem, needs more damping. Get a decent set of tires and take it to someone to get suspension setup.

You're taking the wrong line through T1 and T2 which will put you out into the rough stuff.

i definitely didn't win the track day but looks like people had fun trying by the looks of it.

Rough, choppy, erratic. Fix that ... THEN get faster. At the moment, you are trying too hard, and making mistake after mistake as a result.

where else am i suppose to push he bike other than the track. don't really care how fast i am. was just having fun out there.

The track is a perfectly fine place to do that. What I'm saying is that you need to smooth out your riding and get more consistent. Ever hear the phrase "slow down to go faster" - that applies to you. Smooth it out, get rid of the choppy on/off/on/off/on throttle and brake inputs, stop downshifting too early or once too many times and over-revving the engine (and breaking traction at the rear tire), stop trying to go into every corner as late and fast as possible and thus blowing the corner. Rather than trying to brake as late and hard as possible, smooth it out and focus on being at the correct place on the track at the correct speed to enter the corner and without upsetting the suspension on turn-in. Smooth it out, get on the correct lines, and avoid momentary traction-loss situations, and you will not only be able to turn faster laps but you will also (mostly) stop crashing.

With the bike you are riding, there is probably 6 seconds a lap to be found (eventually) by getting rid of the sloppiness. Do that, and you won't be getting hit from behind any more, because he won't be able to keep up :)

Your lap times now are in the same range on that track as mine are ... with half the horsepower, and I'm not exactly a skinny rider.

thanks for the input. i'm on a 05 r6. its my street bike on dunlop race scrubs. the first crash was caused by me running metzler m3 tires beyond their limit that were date coded from 2008. they were great for the trip to flordia but horrible for track. i swapped those after the crash. in the video u could see the rear end swaying back and fourth a lot at the beginning.

second crash was from someone trying to play too soon while i was still warming up the left side of the tire . i'm always weary for the first 2 laps with the left turns to make sure i warm up the left of the tire.

hopefully i can get an endurance team together for soar to get more track time. 15 minute sessions are too short for me.

Do it! Endurance racing will teach you A LOT about being smooth and consistent, and saving both yourself and the tires so that you can go the distance.

i use thi app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.pirelli.diablosuperbiker&hl=en

available for android and iphone, diable superbike app. does road riding and track, ive compared mine to my lap timer and its dead on. the only thing i dont trust is the lean angle as it floats around inside of my one piece inner pocket, and you need to make sure that you have a nice clear day for the gps to get a good strong signal. but its consistent with its time and like i said ive verified them against my lap timer and also against my go pro footage, plus its free

You can pick up higher sensitivy GPS receivers for your phone, bluetooth too so you can still keep your phone in your pocket while the receiver gets a nice clear view of the sky mounted on the tail of your bike, etc. They have better positional accuracy as well as faster updates too, i.e. http://gps.dualav.com/explore-by-product/xgps160/

thats pretty cool but its a lot of cake
