University of Toronto Riders Unite!

UTSC as well (staff). Just picked up a 2011 Honda CBR250R (red/silver), and once i get my M2/pass RTI (early April) I might start riding it to work on occasion. Out of interest, do any of the other UTSC'ers here know of the best/safest place to park? During summer I always see a few bikes in the inner lot between the Arc and Res Centre, but was wondering if there was also anywhere else (with less student traffic). Outer lots seem like it would just be asking for someone to steal it.

Preparation for a group university students GTAM ride....

#1 have valid TTC tickets in hand

#2 Pick the bus and bus route

#3 begin the group ride by letting the bus driver know when all are on board

:) :D ;)

Also known as the "magic school bus" :D

(If you were at UTSC in early-to-mid 2000s you'll know what I'm talking about)

UTSC 2005 grad here

Hey,

I'm a Last year utsc grad.... just wodering if you guys have to pay for motorcycle parking now? i heard rumours of it last year....

So figured since the ryerson thread got somewhat revived I'd bump up this one.

U of T riders anyone? Im at St george and ride my bike till it snows (sometimes even later!)

We should at least do a group ride, maybe talk about starting an actual motorcycle club? Although I doubt that will happen (as history shows)

Would be nice to get a little UofT crew going on, if for nothing else than to network/ talk bikes! Maybe a bar night (without bikes of course)?

Holla!

I posted on the first page but since the bump I've finally got on 2 wheels! Starting my third year at UTSG in a couple weeks, studying CS so Bahen will be my home pretty much. 09 Ninja 250r SE. If you see me say hi! lol

St. George Class of '97 here!
And I think I smell a campus bike day, yes?

No not yet (at least). They demolished the old inner lots to build a bus depot, so 'bike parking' moved from between the Management Building and ARC to lot F, which is behind Child Care & beside North Residences. I typically drive in, but have rode a few times due to my car being out of commission (blown tire waiting on replacement).

Dude once you get to UofT the last thing you want to do is go for a ride and come back to class. If there were no street lights at Queens Park, the best ride downtown would be circling Queens Park for a few laps like in Nascar :D

2005 UofT graduate here now at Queens university (I miss GTA :( ). Just started riding this year. I am usually down in Mississauga on the weekends and would love to see this thread going somewhere. Subscribed!
Btw, koodos to wearelopey for reviving this thread.

Plenty of bikes at Queens and good roads nearby..plus campus parking is free. See you around (grey/matt black triumph tiger 1050).

Also...for you UofT people...the twisty thing on the right bar makes your bike go fast....but only if you are not in neutral (that's a gear term by the way). I appreciate that this information is of limited use though as most of you UofT types can't read. :)

Will this be on the midterm/exam, and will the powerpoint for this be uploaded to BlackBoard/Intranet? (sorry, had to :p lol)

I recently graduated, but I still go to U of T very often.
I park in front of Robarts Library or inside the alley of the Earth Sciences building (designated for motorcycles).
I ride a 2010, Red Kawasaki Ninja 250R with red rim tape and a pro grip carbon tank protector.
.. I've parked next to a many red Kawi 250Rs before.

Figured I'd bump seeing as school is just around the corner.

Am seriously thinking about creating a motorcycle club. Anyone interested? Maybe we can go across universities/colleges to gather members?
Was thinking maybe weekly group rides, pub nights sans motorcycles of course, reduced price motorcycle courses (m1exit) and possibly track days or advanced rider training. We could also organize bike washes and charity events. Very much in preliminary stages but will look into it once school begins.

Anyways, who goes to UofT and rides?

I like this idea, but something like that could take an extroadinary amount of effort. Would be really nice though.

I'm entering my fourth and final year at UTSG. I ride a green Kawi 250r, and usually park in front of Bahen or that walkway between Sandford Fleming and Con Hall where the other bikes are. I ride just about everyday up until it snows.

Incoming U of T Grad student reporting! To all the St. George guys, can I usually just put my bike anywhere (next to bike racks etc) without any problems?

Most secluded places it's fine so long as you aren't really blocking anything. There's a few hotspots around campus like this such as the one I mentioned in my previous post. You can also park it anywhere on the street for free (provided its the green sign meter parking and not the blue one like in King's Circle; they WILL ticket you there).

Yo George,

You were my instructor a Learning Curves on the 28th weekend I believe! I'm riding a red '12 ninja and I'd love to join you guys on a group ride sometime.

PS: York University represent!

PPS: You sound like Jonah Hill. So awesome.
