Jeep Interested GTAM'ers

This weekend I will be riding somewhere (don't know yet where, maybe PA) and next is a race weekend, but in 3 weeks i should be ok.

I don't know these trails that well but if you guys don't mind going and getting lost and exploring I am all up for it
That's civic holiday weekend. I'm planning to go to tmp sunday august 2 but I'm down to get lost monday Aug 3. Sweetonion are you game?

Hahahaha, you guys don't have true locking diffs?? DAMN SON!!! /END THREAD lol :D The power windows are a nice feature... but the bluetooth I'm going to install myself in a few weeks! When I do see those new ones, I feel a little jealous I must say... but at the same time, when I pull in somewhere, like got the diff. flud changed a few weeks back, the guy instantaneously says "THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!! THAT V6 SUCKS!!!" So it does bring a smile to my face... not being a Jeep guy though, I don't really care. But I feel a bit of that "slap on an Orange t-shirt and head down to Port Dover" mentality that I also do not partake in the bike world. :D

Maybe yours aren't so kick *** in the snow. I can drift mine around a parking lot like I'm playing a video game... I usually tell people that if you're looking out of the front windshield when your driving a Jeep in the winter time, you're doing it wrong. I'm sure they are probably just as good, or better though.

For example daisoman, if I am going into a parking lot in 4WD and don't put it in 2, the Jeep feels like it's climbing over itself and just chewing tires when turning... because the left and right wheels are forced to travel the exact same speed.

I very well might be game, but most likely I would like to go to the same TMP track day and then will probably be busy with the wife and kid the following day. I am absolutely down for meeting up and having some fun at some point in the year though, especially as the bike season starts to dry up a bit. Now that I know there are a few others on here I'm pretty excited about this really... I'm not interested in joining the Jeep guys club in London here much at all, but hooking up with bike guys that have Jeeps... this sounds like something I want to do!! :D

PS dont tell my wife I'm going to boot **** her Jeep in the woods.

Sorry for the multipost reply going on, didn't see all these at once...

I would love to go ride over there some time too... damn family life is really boning me right now lol. :)

So lsd allows left to right to "slip" a little bit while true lockers keeps it locked? true lockers must be nice for the heavy off roaders. I know the 08-11 v6 aren't the greatest but I read the 12+ is greatly praised. To me I have the lower gearing with bigger tires so it feels sluggish off the line. Can't wait to try on snow.

I'll see you at tmp. Look for a white jk with a uhaul trailer.

Yes that's correct.
My Jeep still has the handle next to the gear shift where you reach down to select the range. I am assuming they're electronic now? I just read a few days ago about that electronically unlocking sway bar that zx600 was mentioning. That sounds cool to me!

The Jeepers with the flat 6 are hilarious. It's like the air cooled/dry clutch Ducatista. :)
Hopefully see you there!!

It's still a physical lever to switch from 2wd to 4hi to 4lo. It takes some muscle to shift which is nice and manly lol. For the sway bar disconnect that's only available for the rubicon.

Did I just see this Jeep on 401 EB near 427S?

If you already have the Jeep. Pointless to sell and buy another with the hige aftermarket of better quality parts available.

I have open diffs with 4lo locking the center diff and stability and traction control doing the rest of the work. It works pretty good to stop the spinning tire and transfer torque to the wheel with grip. Id still love air lockers though. 08 grand cherokee diesel. I get 90% of offroading capability of a midly modded wrangler while maintaining comfort and best of all 900km tanks

Nope. Parked at work near Pearson. Stole it from the wife today lol. I see so many white jeeps ever since getting this one.

Oh ok. Yeah I saw a white 4 door with the doors off on my way to work, at Pearson.

Ya no door is amazing in town. Not so much on hwy. No doors or roof is the closest thing to riding.

What? HWY with no doors and roof is awesome!

I agree with RedLiner, with all the awesome Jeep porn after market parts out there, use the money you would spend into upgrading you jeep, don't buy new if you already have one

Just went to leave and the rear left blinker was blown again. Changing it for the 10th time in as many years. :)
It goes through headlights like a mofo too.

Is it possible to get a Jeep with 4x4, manual, and diesel?

Been looking for an SUV that meets that for awhile now.

all Jeeps are 4x4, most models have a manual option and there are Cherokes diesel, I believe the Wranger is coming up with a Diesel option in 2017.

Tbh I only tried it once to go to grand bend beach. There were 4 of us. We could barely speak without shouting and no music. Hopefully the polyfil will help with the music.

I know in theory a diesel manual Jeep should exist but I've never seen one for sale.

In both my cars you'd have trouble having a conversation on the highway with just the windows open.
