Finally pulled the trigger on a bike!

    Hey everyone!
I wanted to thank each of you for providing me with advice on selecting a bike, insurance, and maintenance...and all your patience with my continued questions in the process!

I just closed on a deal for a brand new 2011 CBR250 in Black/Black and couldn't be happier! Didn't even have to go in just made a call and told them where I wanted to be...and they came pretty damn close!

In the end it came to cost and what I was comfortable with at such an early stage in my riding career!

Can't wait for this damn snow to disappear!!!

Curious why you wouldn't go in? I would think you could of gotten a better deal if you went in and negotiated.
    Either way congrats

daisoman, I went to a few places already and have been shopping around a while now so it was a matter of price at which I was comfortable from my research. I offered a price and the dealer took it so I'm happy, and they get to make some $ as well.

Congrats - glad you took your time and thought things through.
Better to regret something you have done than something you haven't.

FI>carb only until you have a problem getting it to run, a lot harder to sort electrical problems vs a clogged jet

They have different rides as well. When I corner on the Ninja 250 I feel that my arms are always locked, and I struggle to set up for the next corner...

Whereas on the Honda, I find I worry most about my sightlines and traction on the front end. Which means it has a better riding position for me than the Ninja.

Did you get the ABS package with it?

Ronnie no I didn't get the ABS version I decided against it.
Also looks like my research wasn't good enough as someone
else paid 5k for the abs version all in!

You'll love it, regardless. You'll just have to threshold brake like the rest of us.

Have you planned any mods yet?

Don't worry about what others paid now. It'll make you feel bad. Just be happy you got a price you are comfortable with and wait for summer. Congrats.

Congrats on the new bike. 250's are fun...you'll love it. I got the ninja but both are awesome. I just bought a new 600 at the show, but thinking of still keeping the 250... they are just that fun!!
To ride or not to ride…THAT is a stupid question !!

Most likely you can pull a fuse, and practice threshold braking on the ABS version, if that's what rocks your boat.

I test rode an ABS version and was surprised at the low end grunt it had. You need to be quick, to keep it from bumping the limiter in first though.
Ignorance is curable, Apathy not so much, but I don't care, I'll try anyway.
