PETERBOROUGH — A Toronto man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle about 75 kilometres north of Peterborough.
Provincial police say the man was with three other riders on a county road near Gooderham on Monday afternoon when his bike crossed the centre line and ended up in a gravel ditch.
The driver lost control and was thrown from his machine.
Police say 27-year-old James Moonesar was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead..

The Peterborough County OPP report that James Moonesar, 27, of Toronto, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Monday (Sept. 5).
(GALWAY-CAVENDISH-HARVEY) Police have identified the man who died in a motorcycle accident over the Labour Day weekend.
Police say that James Moonesar, 27, of Toronto, was killed when he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving on County Road 507.
The Peterborough County OPP report that on Monday (Sept. 5) at approximately 2:14 p.m. the OPP, along with other emergency services, responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 507 near Salmon Road, south of Gooderham.
Police say that the driver of a 2008 Yamaha R6 motorcycle was heading south on County Road 507 with three other riders when his vehicle crossed the road’s centreline, went onto the east shoulder of the road and into a gravel ditch where the driver lost control and was thrown from his bike.
The driver was transported by ambulance to Haliburton Hospital with serious life-threatening injuries where he was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries he sustained.
