I read this just now on the star as well and was going to post as I hadn't seen it on here yet.
What a horrible year. RIP
Another terrible day...RIP Rider.

Wow ... That train track is the same one that goes past the Forks hairpin and eventually to Brampton, with quite a number of level crossings with no warning lights ... but also almost no train traffic. Wrong place, wrong time. RIP.

Wow, RIP rider.
I can see how this could happen, those tracks are used so infrequently that even the locals wouldn't think to look before crossing.
The passenger service generally only seems to run on the weekends and mostly in the autumn.
No lights at a railway crossing??!? R.I.P. rider.
RIP Rider. Thoughts and prayers to your friends and family.

I moved here to Caledon From Nova Scotia in Dec. The motorcyclist that died on the Beechgrove Sd Rd train tracks was Stephen Crathern. One of the first people I met here. He left my home for a quick spin on the bike. When he didnt return fast enough we went to look for him. To our terror he was at the tracks in the back of the EHM vehical deceased. I have been scared myself going over those tracks with no signals. Now I am terrified. Our dear freind, and a wonderful husband and the best dad in the world, lost his life because there was no signals on that dam track. If he would of seen lights it may have gave him at least a chance to bale. R.I.P Stev. we love you and will miss you and promise to take care of ur boys and ur wife.
It is a dirt road. Plus there are trees blocking the view of a train on both sides. Drivers on bikes and cars don't stand a chance. Plus seeing the train is very rare.
