One more thing I will mention, as much as the cops get bashed here, and as much as I personally find hem sort of an at least annoying presence in urban life, when you get to know them as individuals that all changes. The officer that responded to my wife's incident yesterday was a very professional, caring and kind young woman. She even had a sense of humour. A big thumbs up for PC 9860.

While I am at it, you couldn't get a kinder bunch of people than at Toronto East General either. Maybe the medical service in Ontario is a bit slow, but the people are great, and hell, the price is right.

Richard, sorry to hear this, hope she gets well soon, TEG is well known for their fracture clinic so she will be fine.

Poor girl..that really bites...I hope a quick and full recovery for her and hope this doesn't curtail her thoughts of continuing riding...make sure she knows we are all thinking of her!!

Sorry to read about what happened to your wife, Richard. Hope she has a speedy recovery. Thanks for the reminder, too. I'm a new rider and am realizing more and more how much I need to be aware of my surroundings when on my motorcycle.

That is terrible, I wish her a speedy recovery.

I think I may have been detoured up to Queen St. as a result of this (was around 2:30pm).

Wishing her a speedy and complete recovery Richard and I hope this does not scare her off bikes.

I have to get better mirrors - I have a hard time no matter how I adjust them to see what is right behind me. At stops I only let the guard down when the car behind me has come to a full stop. I get most freaked on stop and go highways when I come to a complete stop and I can't tell if the car behond me is slowing down fast enough.
Track is my Crack - but I'm not fast - yet.

yeah, replaced the mirros on my bike with huge bar end mirrors...yeah, they ain't the prettiest, but they don't shake and i can keep an eye on my 6 all the time without too much head movement...i don't know how you guys with those tiny itty bitty bicycle mirrors can see stuff...

Hi Ritchard, I'm glad it wasn't worse, but I wish it hadn't happened at all. All the best for her full and rapid recovery. And best wishes for you too as you take care of her during this time.
