I have some Evotech bits on my Tuono, and they're nicely made. Need a rad and oil cooler guard if I ever have time for the Tuono over the RC, will check in then...

I like to live dangerously...

I'm actually ambivalent about getting one. Like most V4's, she runs hot, so I'm not a fan of restricting airflow to the rad, even by a bit. Still, now that I've talked about it, I'd better get one or I'll be crying about the bill soon enough...

I put a rad guard on mine last summer and didn’t notice any difference with the running temps. Mind you I live out in the country so I do very little, if any, low speed in-town riding.

I hear this a lot and I could just be lucky but none of my bikes have ever had these and never had a problem. wanted to get one but never got around before swapping bikes.
how often and what are the chances of something hitting and puncturing the rad?
I've actually hit a bird that flew into it and it didn't do any damage.

That's a tough call and I have a screen on my bike and it is heavily pitted and a couple small dents (reminder to sand and paint this year). I guess it is like insurance where you pay less now to potentially save more later. Same could be said for frame sliders. I have no overheating issues either but it is liquid cooled.

I put a lot of kms on my bikes, especially highway. I get stones and debris bouncing off my legs often enough that for $80 I’ll take the peace of mind.

I get it, its one of those preemptive things, would be a ****** thing to get stuck middle of nowhere. hence why i carry around a tire plug kit with me as well.

I do mostly highway kms and country roads out of the city.
Just wondered if you had any first hand experience or heard of anyone having getting a rad puncture/failure while riding.

I know a couple of fellow Tuono riders that have had a rock puncture their rad while out riding back roads which is what prompted me to get one.
For what the covers cost, it’s cheap insurance.
I’m with you on bringing a patch kit when touring, just in case. Same reason I’ve got frame sliders and always wear my gear - for the what ifs.

Does it have the race tune? That really smooths out the throttle response, gives you a little bump in power, opens up the flapper valve and makes the engine run a little cooler.
After market pipe? It really lets the engine roar like it should! Plus, getting rid of the cat helps even more with throttle response and another little bump in power. (Don’t put a pipe on until the race tune is done.)

Cool. I have purchased several items from them and their products are top notch as is their customer service. Delivery from the UK has been reasonable both in time and cost. Are you stocking stuff or just placing orders on demand? @railsideperformance
