    Hobbies? What keeps you sane?

I can't remember if we've had a thread like this before, so what the hell. Especially during the current times we need something to keep us from going stir crazy, so what hobbies (other than riding) have been keeping you sane? My hobbies (arguably) make me look somewhat less than sane, to the...

Canada Motoguide wants to interview riders involved in the recent mass rides

I've been asked by Canada Motoguide to pass on that they would like to get the riders' side of the story, with respect to the recent mass ride incidents in the GTA. To this end they would like to interview riders who were involved in these rides. They promise anonymity. I can provide contact...

    Pics from 2017 CSBK-1

I've got a couple of hundred left to cull, but there are a good number of shots already up for viewing: http://www.morallyambiguous.net/multimedia/gallery/index.php/170528_smp

    Any creatives/film/acting/broadcast folk around?

If memory serves we have some people here who work in the entertainment industry. One of my friends, a Seattle area stage, screen, and voice-over actor is looking for direction in how to possibly break into the market in the Toronto area. He's actually a Canadian, currently piecing back together...

    Any weird hobbies out there?

Just wondering if anyone else has some oddball hobbies, or if I'm the only one. A few years back I started making costume grade chainmail armour and jewellery, then started collecting what I sometimes refer to as my Zombie Apocalypse Fallback Plan (replica swords, a couple of bows, making bows...

This is potentially huge, when it comes to impaired driving cases

A Brampton judge has acquitted a person charged with impaired driving, based on expert testimony that the Intoxilyzer 8000C is inaccurate. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2016/05/02/rejected-breathalyzer-test-could-have-great-significance-across-ontario.html

Goodwill - All 16 locations closed

So, out of nowhere, all 16 Goodwill locations are closed. That's over 400 people, many of them disabled, who are now out of work without warning. The reason given? "Cash flow problems."

    Scarborough go boom

House blows up. Takes half of the house next door with it and dumps debris all over the neighbourhood. One man dies, who is "known to police." Video of the explosion, as shown on a dashcam from the next street over...

Not a lot of hope, but maybe someone saw this guy's GoPro get stolen?

"Today someone stole my Gopro Hero 3 that my wife bought for my birthday a year ago. It was stolen off my motorcycle this afternoon, Sunday April 19 at 3:00 pm at Guild Inn in Scarborough. I believe it was a group of teens on bicycles when I was away from my bike for about 2 minutes. I just want...

Interesting decision, with respect to liability

This decision was posted on another board, by a criminal defence lawyer. I don't know if he's on this board using another name but as he's in the Ottawa area, it's unlikely. The upshot of the decision is that if you're being an idiot on public roads with your buddies and one of your friends...

Are you a fan of the original Star Trek series?

If you are then the best fan film continuation that I've found, of the many out there, is called "Star Trek Continues." They're trying to stay true to the original series in their scripts, settings, etc.. They've brought back Michael Forest, who played the 'god' Apollo in the original series...

Any old role playing gamers around here?

Is there anyone here who played RPGs and is old enough to remember things like "Mazes and Monsters" (a role that Tom Hanks should open his wrists over) and the old "a guy went into the sewers and killed himself because his character died" stories? Well the latter was born out of a one page...

    How far (backwards) we've come

I was listening to talk radio, on my way home from work yesterday, and one particular discussion gave me a serious case of mental whiplash. They interviewed a woman who is pushing to have schools allow children, who are found to have lice, continue to go to school while they still have them. Her...

Did you appear in Traffic court at Old City Hall, in 2012?

If so, and if you were convicted before this JP, I would recommend that you read this story. You may have cause to have it reversed, even after this long. http://www.torontosun.com/2014/08/19/arrogant-justice-of-the-peace-slapped-with-suspension

    Changes to the HTA

I just heard an announcement that there will be changes to the HTA tabled in the Legislature, this afternoon. I'll post when I hear what they are. Odds are that it's an increase in the fine and addition of points penalties for the use of electronic devices while driving.

A very long rant about crowdfunding

I also posted this on Facebook. It's something that has been bothering me a great deal lately. A Very Long Rant Follows: Crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo; they're a source of funding for people who have an idea but no conventional funding source, nor a history that could...

    3D printer or desktop CNC

Just wondering if anyone here has gone for a 3D printer or some sort of desktop CNC rig? I'm toying with the idea of picking up one or the other, over the next year, but wondering about the experiences of others. These are the two things that have piqued my interest: Othermill...
