Shell gas no longer Ethanol Free

To those that know, Shell V-Power is usually labeled as having 0% Ethanol in it. Great for those of us with older bikes, Carburetors, or who just want to stay away from Ethanol. I read on a group chat that apparently Shell will be adding Ethanol to all of their "blends". Here is a reply to...

    My new JDM "Super" Bike

Finally got my hands on this little beaut. 1995 Honda Super Cub C50. Definitely not in the greatest shape cosmetically but I am working on that slowly. Starts on the first kick. Pretty comfy. The gears are a little hard to get used to. Centrifugal clutch and a 3 speed Also it's a bit odd...

    Safety Cert required for Mopeds/Scooters

So I've been looking at old Scoots to buy. Maybe a Honda cub or something like that. Something to put-put around town, maybe ride down Lakeshore and pretend I'm courting Audrey Hepburn 😚 Anyways, one of the bikes I was looking at I asked the seller if he was selling it with the safety, and he...

    Provincial change to tows

Got an e-mail from CAA about some proposed changes for tows. https://www.moresafetows.ca/ I've always wondered why the Police don't use their own tow trucks as my experience, both in Emergency services and personally, tow trucks can be real nasty. I can't count how many times they would tow...

    Another trip to Japan

With the winter blues hitting so strong I have been reminiscing about my trip to Japan this past October. I thought I would try and write some of it out to share. I last did a bike trip in Japan in 2016 and loved every bit of it. Riding in Japan I didn't finish the thread on that trip but it...

    Passing/filtering on the yellow line

Rider down in Mississauga. Was coming up the yellow line trying to get past the traffic and hit a left turning car. https://www.cp24.com/news/motorcyclist-critical-after-mississauga-collision-1.4041679 This is the second time that I can think of off the top of my head that a rider has been...

Process of keeping bike after it's "written-off"

Long story short, my bike was hit in a parking lot and it fell over. Initial report from the appraiser says it might be written off due to the cosmetic damage. (See this thread for details and the infuriating vid...

My bike was hit in a parking lot

To make a long story short, Thursday Morning I had moved my bike briefly into a visitors spot on my property. I had it there while I stuck the luggage on it, I went inside my place to get my gear. (Less than 50ft away and I was inside for maybe 5 minutes) I came out and the XL Crew cab pickup...

    Tank Bag repair

This is a long shot but I have a tank bag that I have been using for almost 10 years now. The leather that hols the magnets on the bottom of the tank bag has torn in places and 2 of the magnets have fallen out. (I still have the magnets) Just recently one of the zipper sliders doesn't clinch...

    To Beartooth and back

I finished my trip. Been back for a few days now. I left Tuesday August 29th with the plan to be back in 14 days. The main goals were to hit up Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, Independence Pass and the continental divide near Aspen, Beartooth Highway near Yellowstone Park, and Going to the Sun...

    Sombra/Algonac Ferry crossing to MI

Planning a trip to the states and Google maps sends me through a Ferry Crossing into Michigan I had no idea exsisted. There's a Sombra Ferry and an Algonac - Walpole Island ferry. I have read everything I could find online. Has anyone actually used one of these ferries? Apparently they're a...

    Mid Tour Tire Change

I'm finding myself in the awkward situation where mid-way through the trip I'm planning my tires will most like be a bit square'd off due to all the slabbing. The tires as they are now are still decent enough that changing them before the trip would be a waste. Not the first time I have had to...

    Luggage to Exhaust clearance

My new side luggage rack ever so slightly clears my highmount pipe. For the inevitable moments when it touches and rubs, I think I should put something on the rack to soften the contact. Any better suggestions than duct tape/Electrical tape? I'm not worried about heat. Can doesn't get...

    Omni-Cruise tips

Anyone use an Omni-cruise? I got one after reading all the positive reviews but it doesn't hold the speed steady on my bike. Even with the tension screw tightened as far/tight as it'll go. I tried it with the included band and without. No difference.

    Purchasing BC bike

Asking for a friend: She wants to buy a scooter. Current owner has the bike registered in BC. If she purchases it, what hoops will she need to go through with the MTO to register it in Ontario in her name?
