    Grocery store boycott

I found out by accident that I can save $35 - $50 a month by going to Food Basic. Metro use to be my go to, 3 minutes away, but when they went on strike, the next closest was FB. Been going there ever since. Haven't been to a Roblaws or any of their other stores for maybe 20 years.

    4 day work week?

Back in the 70's when working for a large retail, instead of a raise, we went from a 40 hour week to a 37.5 hour week. So 7.5 hour day instead of 8. Really made no difference, the company still went under.

    Thoughts about Yamaha TW200.

Bought it, got it, love it. Brand new from a local dealer. Not disappointed, does all I need it to do. Almost 1300 km on it. CAN WE LET THIS THREAD DIE NOW??

What's the dumbest question someone has ever asked you about your motorcycle?

Short-shifting, if that matters, my Suzuki in heavy stop-and-go traffic. Next light, "Hey, is that an automatic?"

    Minimum wage spin offs

Opps, ya. Should have said decent employable education. Last job I had before retire was CNC programmer/operator at a high end tool & die shop. 36 week schooling at collage to start the job. Best money I ever made.

    Minimum wage spin offs

In 1973, grade 10 education, I was working sales floor Scarborough Town Center for Simpson's. Remember them? Started as a family business. I was earning $110 @ 40 hour week, $5,720 @ year. We were also paid stock shares, full health care. Cost of a house back then about $40,605, so about 7...

    Nostalgia

Nice find. Film from the 50's, but I still remember players in the late 60's working summer jobs. Some use to work as car salesmen, just to bring in customers. Most did not make enough with just their hockey wages. I remember one Leaf, can't remember his name, use to live down the road from my...

    Chainsaws?

I have 3 STIHL chainsaws, from a 40 year old 010 with a 12" bar, to a 8 year old MS 271 with a 30" bar. Use to be an Arborist back in the 80's. Doesn't matter what saw you get, the key is to keep the chain sharp so it cuts through trees like butter. STIHL make a great file system that I use and...
