This baby came up for sale a little while back with only 3 miles on the odometer. I think it sold for $25,000 US. I would kill for that bike.
Unfortunately there are no consequences or repercussions for people that do dumb things with guns. Law abiding gun owners get punished instead by virtue signalling politicians that don’t know which end of a gun is up. Makes for great headlines and soundbites. We don’t have a gun problem, we have...
That’s how it was when I was a kid growing up in Toronto in the 60’s and 70’s, rifles were kept on a rack above the fireplace or in a gun case which was like a glass China cabinet in the basement rec room. Nobody ever got shot.
Welding pressed cranks was a must on old Kawasaki kz900 and 1000’s with pressed cranks. They had a tendency to twist when ridden hard or raced. Just a couple of very short beads or a couple of tack welds with a tig machine is all it takes.
I don’t like high tech stuff either like fobs, abs etc. I did however have 3 Honda’s that had their linked braking system that worked flawlessly. I actually got the last year ST1300 that had the non abs linked brakes in 2007.
Sorry, I didn’t really answer your question. I never really ask myself how cheap can I buy a motorcycle, I ask how cheap can I enjoy a motorcycle. I would rather spend a little more on a bike that’s in good shape and get my money back when I sell it.
I had two bikes insured and on the road a few years back. You don’t get much of a break on insurance for the second bike. I decided it just wasn’t worth it and got rid of the second bike.
I’m seeing a lot of nice early 2000’s BMW bikes for well under $5000. Sellers are usually well heeled , older riders that maintained them and stored them properly. There’s something that’s so cool about a mint 20 plus year old bike. They may actually increase in value in the next few years. I...
My favourite Deniro movie is “Taxi Driver” . It’s just so raw and intense. I must have seen it five times before I realized Harvey Keitel played the pimp and Martin Scorsese played one of the passengers.
This was in the eighties when travellers cheques and paying with cash was quite common. I don’t think most merchants were even using debit cards at the time, just credit cards. My friend would just go to various local builders supply businesses, he’d buy something for $20 (that he was going to...
I had a buddy years ago that had tons of cash that he was always trying to hide from the government and he was literally running out places in his house to put. He was always worried about a break in and. safes are too obvious. Someone advised him to get a CAA membership with one of the benefits...
I’ve also got a 14 year old Honda EU2000 that I use for work. I don’t know how many hours are on it but it has performed flawlessly with nothing but oil changes. I got bored one evening early in January and decided to rip it apart to adjust the valves and replace the spark plug(original) which...
