TL: DL Canada post needs a grenade. Realistically, firing 30-40K staff and reducing service to rural parcel delivery only is likely the only sustainable model. The alternative is infinite taxpayer dollars being burned.

Canada Post is the country's crown mail courier, but year after year, Canadians seem to be seeing less and less of their prominent blue, red and white logo.

CUPW is doubling down. They are now stopping flyer delivery. That's pretty much the only viable revenue stream left. Hopefully the gov't lets CP die as it's clear CUPW is not interested in financial reality.

Canada Post union to lift overtime ban, stop delivering flyers

Late last month, the union responded to Canada Post's latest offers with a proposal that called for higher wages.

The letter carriers are taking a financail hit also. "Flyers" are technical called Admail unadressed and addressed. Anyhow, the letter carrier gets money for each flyer delivered, since it's not calculated in the route measurement. Btw, the flyers are heavy, the Uline are probably the heaviest
