The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

I'll add to that: ads with no pictures that show the whole bike. It's a motorcycle, not an oil tanker; it's not that hard to fit it in the frame. I think at least half the ads I look at have this problem. If you can't be arsed to wheel it out of the garage to take a few decent snaps, I can't be arsed to look at it. The ones that are taken outside but still can't manage a side shot including both tires are the most puzzling. If there's something you're trying to hide, don't you think the buyer will notice before handing over the cash? I just don't get it...

My best deals were posted without pictures, some older folks have hard time posting ads, but they are original owners of some nice '80s bikes

I attest to this. Two of the best deals I ever came across were posted without any pictures and then the guys could only text me them, and videos of startup. Honest gentlemen as well, I just happened to not be the first inquirer. Bikes were good conditions 08 Gsxr600 and 06 CBR600rr.

Absolutely no pictures is actually better than crap pictures. If the whole technology side of uploading them etc is the problem, no sweat. I get it. I feel more and more confused by technology every day (seriously, why is people lip-synching scenes from TV and movies a thing on TikTok!? Just watch the f**king scene! Seriously.)

Where I get grouchy is when the tools and knowledge are there to take pictures (and every smart phone built in the last 10 years takes a good enough photo for an online classified), but the effort or care isn't there to take useful pictures.

Maybe it's the kind of idiot squid that sells the bagged out sportbikes I've been looking at lately, but it felt like every ad I looked at had some crap 3/4 shot that focused on one handlebar (and showed from about halfway through the passenger seat to about halfway through the headlight) and then a few random closeups...

I help a few used car dealers with kijiji or autotrader ads. They always want to take the pics. Always crap pics. So politely I insist 4 pics one from each corner. Then some detailed stuff and look at what is behind the shot. Garbage cans and worse.
I think that may be half the reason some car dealerships have the separate delivery rooms. They also make a great location for any idiot to take pictures without junk in the background.

This seems like a nice find.
2010 Multistrada 1200 with bags and only 37k for $6500

Awesome find!

Keep in mind that a Desmo service is $1500-2000 (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) if needed.

At that price though, could just ride the crap out of it until (if?) it blows, YOLO and all

UHaul rents motorcycle trailers for $15/day, just sayin...

I bet their trucks(which you can also rent) have a hitch

Sounds like dealership pricing. Ken Livingstone did a valve adjustment, belt change, flywheel check and oil change on my 998 for about $1000 tax in a few years ago. I did bring it in with the bodywork removed, but that only takes 5 minutes. The seller may not be aware of indy pricing, so that might give you further negotiating advantage.

You can probably buy a hitch for your vehicle with the money you'd spend on a single truck rental. Their advertised rates are cheap, but they get you on mileage.

Oooooof, my favourite colour scheme too.

Me too. I loved the white and black scheme on mine, but pics don't do the anniversary colours justice, it's beautiful in person.

I can't believe it's still available for that price, if I hadn't just bought a bike I'd be all over this. Makes me wonder if there are issues with it.

Edit...he mentioned he's trading it in, I'm guessing he just wants more than the dealer low balled him for. If no one buys it I'm sure it'll pop up for double on the dealership page soon enough.
