THIEF ALERT DURHAM REGION

If you park in front of your house in Durham region, keep an eye out for a slightly pudgy white dude driving a black infiniti sedan. Caught him scoping out my bike and looking under the cover (ON MY FRONT PORCH ON A SUNDAY AT 2PM). Immediately went full sprint into his shitbox infiniti when he saw me and I chased him for a bit. He ran every stop sign in the neighbourhood, was cutting through parking lots recklessly, and was going over 100 on Rossland so it wasn't worth it to me to continue. Obviously he's not driving away with my bike in his sedan, but he was certainly scoping it out.

DESCRIPTION
White
Older model black infiniti sedan
approx 5 foot 8
Black hair
Slightly pudgy
Talking on the phone while scoping it out

Keep an eye out for unknown vehicles parked in front of your house! Especially this black infiniti if you're in durham region. The bike is parking in the garage now even though I have to move 2 cars to get it in and out.

Holy ****! Thieves now in Durham - what next for sleepyville?

Thanks for the warning. Next time pop out a cell phone to shoot your perp -- pics and videos worth a thousand words... and they provide more to go on "than short fat white gangster in a black Infinity".

You chased him and didnt get a plate?

I would have gotten video, but my phone camera sensor is broken and produces sasquatch sighting-worthy photos...

As to the plate, all I can say is my adrenaline was pumping. I was in beat down mode not intelligence mode, plus never dealt with something like this before.

No plate? Uh oh, your bike is definitely getting stolen

Thieves usually don't walk up to your porch in broad daylight. He may be looking for his own stolen bike and is too shy or awkward in talking to you, especially if he finds his bike and he thinks that you may have it. On the other hand, even mentally challenged individuals do own driver's licenses and can drive recklessly to get away from you (if they don't want to talk to you). Agreed he made a big deal about it and did not handle it right. I seriously doubt he was scoping your bike. But then again he could be the dumbest motorbike thief in history.

Anyway, it looks like you followed him and have at least a partial vehicle plate number.

And how would that helped? Lazy cops would have told him that it's not illegal for anybody to peek at a bike.

yup

and if later on the bike goes missing
and OP has a plate number and description
they're still not gonna do squat about it

locked up, out of sight, and insured is what OP needs
