Aftermarket slip on fitment help

Morning everyone,

i got an aftermarket slip on this weekend for free (amazon item) and installed it on my '10 Ninja 250. I need help to clarify if there is anything i can do in terms of fitment. This slip on is meant for the bike, but i do have a leak at the joints with some droplets coming out of the joint to the header pipe (condensation? unburnt fuel?). The clamp i am using is pretty tight at the bolt, can't really tighten it anymore but i can feel the leak if i put my hand underneath the pipe/joint.

Also, the spring hooks seem to be too close to each other from the exhaust itself and the midpipe where the springs aren't really doing anything and just really loose. I thought of maybe using a short pipe in between the midpipe and the exhaust to give more space in between them and be able to have the springs tension in between the hooks. Would this be ok? What i did at this time was to kind of turn the midpipe in order to create some tension between the hooks, but this causes the exhaust to not sit properly. it sort of just sits towards the outside vs sitting to the side of the bike itself (does this make sense what i'm saying?) I'd rather have it installed correctly.

thanks in advance for any help!IMG-20200503-WA0001.jpg

Is that a worm-drive hose clamp in addition to a screw clamp at that joint? Neither one of those are the right way to make that connection.

I think you are finding out why it was free ... it's rubbish.

lol, yes, but i added that one myself actually from the stock exhaust to see if it would help with the leak there. The one to left of it is the one that came in the box.
