F.I.M. Approved helmets (new standard)

So this completely flew under my radar until now, when I saw it mentioned in an F9 video:

For clarity, the headline new standard is FRHPhe-02 - I think FRHPhe-01 is basically just extra tests on helmets that meet existing standards

Nope they only said back, don't forget we don't need to follow other motorcycles that are trying to throw rocks at you.
I heard it all came about after Tony Bou hurt his back and that was enough to do it, guess he hasn't hurt his chest yet.

Based on most riders I know, they will want cheap lightweight and easy access to buy it, just as long as it passes inspection.
The way the rules have been presented so far a camel backpack would count.
Remember the outcry when they made us wear helmets?

Tether kill switch has barely been enforced.
Can not fault it though, FIM is basing their safety rules on experience, they've seen most of the ways you can get hurt on a motorcycle by now, they seen lots of crash test dummies over the years.

I'm not catching for you then!.... just kidding, actually I would, you can't put much trust in most of the switches anyway.
When things start to get rammed down your throat, i move on to a place where that doesn't happen. We (SOCT) are not governed by FIM rules and i hope we never are. But i have seen a little bit of trickle down from the CMA try to get into our events. Don't want any post of it.

I always looked at SNELL as a great excuse to fleece boy-racer trendies on the price of a helmet. Now this new standard, oblique and deflective collision testing and all, is going to be a great excuse to go from a $1000 SNELL, to a $3000 just-gotta-have-it FIM with an irresistible paint job. I have yet to hear any of these reviewers talk about the elephant in the room, which is: does the new standard lower the risk of concussion? Because any helmet can prevent skull fracture, but not one can prevent concussion.
Sorry to be skeptical, but I've seen all the "educational" vids on the the "terrible" DOT standard vs the superior SNELL et al. Where's the study proving you're more likely to survive with the latter? At last glance there isn't any, and there never will be for SNELL, or FIM or any other standard making phony claims.

Until they find a way to prevent your brain from bouncing around inside your skull on impact,just about any full face helmet will do.
