Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2019 Edition)

I did a Decemberide!

Only to the forks and back. Main roads were ok.

Nice! I'm just out for a little ride. Prob will end up with 300 or 400 km

Saw an ST1300 rolling along 16th ave in Markham today. If my lazy-boy didn’t need me to keep it company watching football, I may have gone for a spin. Gonna try riding to work tomorrow

Saw a few people out yesterday. Unfortunately didn't have time to go for one.

My handguard came in the mail from China.

C$ 19.31 30%OFF | Kemimoto Universal Motorcycle Hand Guard Protective Shield Plexiglass Handguards Extension for BMW For HONDA For YAMAHA

Has more coverage than the ones I had before.

God damn they're ugly... Hope they work better.

It's cold, it's windy, it's wet, it's slippery as $#@! but rain took almost all of the snow away (y)
? I think it's ride time.

I rode Sunday and Monday (days off) I didn't ride in to work today because of the possibility of snow streamers later in the day.

Do you ever do trials on snow?

Yes, just as long as the roads are passable enough to get to the venue people still ride events regardless of weather.
I've rode many events in snow or freezing rain over the years, I usually do relatively good on those ones too :)

There is some snow, I crashed once today but it was a layer of mud on ice :| my error, don't ride where water flows,
everything else is good today, is good slippery riding practice. I ride until I can't feel my clutch finger any more, then I thaw out for a while so I can go do it again ? I'm going to try rubber-gloves under my riding-gloves this time and see if that helps.

Hardcore bro, doing hardcore stuff.
I wish insurance would allow me to keep both bikes on the road--I couldn't be bothered to take my super clean VFR out and my ex500 only has fire/theft. Back in the day, my ex500 would be sujected to all sorts of brine and salt in December and causing chaos on Yonge St on Chirstmas/Boxing Day morning.

Difficult to even walk here today, tomorrow looks good,
didn't get very much snow at my place yesterday it was all south of here (y)

The challenge with rubber gloves is your hand can sweat and the moisture has no where to go. Wet hands become cold hands.

Before I got heated gloves I tried two strategies when riding in cold temperatures) below freezing.).

I tried some glove liners with some success and also Aerostich 3-finger over-gloves with great success. The 3-fingers are actually rain gloves (although the do/did have insulated ones as well) and just having them over my normal non-heated winter gloves worked for me way down below 0c.

For you winter heads, this dude is doing a trip in February from Quebec to ice roads of Labrador and Newfoundland, says anyone is free to join.

"ride to Labrador City the next day if riders are up for an almost 585 kms day at -30 or colder " - I'm already cold just thinking about that.

Was nice out today!! Just did a quick hr ish roaming the street of Richmond hill then headed off to work in the car in case the storm kicked in earlier than expected.. Which it didn't.. But better than nothing ?
