Watched Yesterday, not really a Beetle's fan, but a good simply enjoyable movie. It's a nice break from all the SFX and superheros, and beat that other guy stuff.

Thanks for that. I've been wanting to see this since I first saw the trailer, it looks really good.

John Wick 3 - Hand to hand combat scenes are outstanding. Plot? Who cares! Lol. Mindless fun.

I saw Yesterday Sunday night. My wife and I really enjoyed it. I thought the music was awesome and I couldn't help sing along for a lot of it. A really good 'feel good' movie. I'll watch it again when I get a chance.

The Glass Castle was great. Almost as good as the book and wow the cast!

However I can't watch Woody without thinking "I'm gonna steal your girlfriend" and K-E-L-L-YYYYYYYÝ......

Ad Astra was excellent. It's a great movie and the space scenes beg for the big screen. Impressive cast. FWIW, Ad Astra is mostly about humankind and humanity; it simply takes place in space.

Sci-fi movies are difficult to get made; I've seen recent commentary that Ad Astra probably wouldn't even be made today; sad. So I will support them.

Looking forward to this movie, hope to see it in the next week or two.

There have been a lot of great sci-fi movies out in the last couple of years. Interstellar, The Martian, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 and Ex Machina are a few fantastic examples. So much garbage comes out I would rather wait longer for quality rather then more so called sci fi flicks like star wars and star trek.

They're talking about remaking the Princess Bride. There hasn't been anything really worth my time seeing this summer, they all seem to be copycats, remakes, reboots etc. I might be interested in the Witcher, or the Overlord books being converted to the big screen. Now might also be the Era where some of Asimov's tales could be translated.

I think any thoughts of remaking the Princess Bride have been destroyed. The immediate and correct outrage at such a thing should make any studio tremble. It really was a perfect movie and would take some serious delusions for anyone to think they could improve on it. It is one of those movies that are still referenced today and just hits the widest audience possible, young or old, you always find something enjoyable in it.

The Witcher is coming to Netflix as a series with Henry Cavill starring … never read the book(s) and no nothing about the story but it's peeked my interest. Dec 2019.

Yes some better SiFi lately. If you haven't checked out the movie Moon with Sam Rockwell, kinda quirky similar concept as Oblivion (which was good) not as polished.

Moon was 10 years ago!

That movie always reminded me of Triangle. More horror than sci-fi though.
I didn't say it was a recent movie ;) :ROFLMAO:

(I didn't realize it was that old, I only stumbled onto it a few years ago)

I hope you enjoy it! Those are some great sci-fi movies listed however I wouldn't call those five sci-fi movies over the last six years "a lot"; there have been 24 Marvel comic book movies made in the same last six years.... and that's just "Marvel" comic book movies.

Ad Astra won't be for everyone, that's for sure. Very introspective. Here are a few recent positive articles. There may be spoilers.

Yes, loved Moon, own the blueray. Much smarter then Oblivion, though Oblivion was very enjoyable. There was a Netflix sci fi movie that was actually connected to the Moon story. You saw news reports bout what was going on on the Moon. Can’t remember the name of it now.

A lot of garbage movies get made over and over again. Not going to say the masses like dumb entertainment but....

I did enjoy all the Marvel movies, but only as a whole being connected to the greater story lines. The first couple of Thor movies were terrible and I would not be able to stand them if it were not their connection the MCU. I will take quality over quantity, most think of sci fi as an action movie set in space or the future, and while they can be enjoyable I would not place them anywhere near quality sci fi stories.

Just saw Hacksaw Ridge yesterday on Netflix. Wow, what a fantastic movie. I've generally always liked Mel Gibson's work, who directed it.

Anyone else think Hobbs & Shaw was junk? I knew it was going to be out there, but found it to be very stiff, off, and plain bad.
