Any shippers here?

I have a engine that I need to ship from Honolulu to Toronto.
Never shipped to/from Hawaii before. Anyone know who services Honolulu?

It seems that I can ship a whole bike to Japan for less than it costs to get a motor from Hawaii.

Perhaps it would be cheaper to just go there and pick it up, then place it in your carry-on luggage. Some enterprising VW engineers did just that in Europe with their new 1 litre engine, just threw it in a duffle bag and placed it in the overhead compartment. Just make sure it's an aluminum block not iron.

it'll be cheaper and a lot less headache if you flew there and pick it up yourself....

Shipping things there for work and back, its a logistic nightmare every time....

I shipped a bicycle from Afghanistan home and it was very affordable with them
took a month, but yeah, if you want air freight it's gonna be spendy
I find once it reaches 50lbs other options are more enticing

This is the motor I'm trying to ship

Seller thinks it's a Yamaha TA250, I think it's a TR3(the TAs and the TR3s were a stop-gap bike Yamaha released in 1972(I think) they were the last of the Yamaha GP air cooled two strokes. No body really knows much about the TR3s, they were only distributed for six months or so and not very many people got them. Don Embe won the '72 Daytona on a TR3. The worlds fastest air cooled two stroke is a TR3, 154 MPH at Daytona. ). It has a DS7xxxx serial number which predates the TZ motors, so it has to be either a TA250 or a TR3... I think....
I have a TR3, last ridden by Michelle Duff, but the motor is a real mix of parts, this motor is all period correct, and it's all there (which is VERY hard to find 50 years later). I WANT THIS MOTOR.
I would love to fly to Hawaii to pick it up but I am what US Immigration calls an unwelcome alien. They don't like me there, so that ain't gonna happen.

The best price I have so far is $570 USD. I shipped a Suzuki GT750, not a small bike, to Osaka, Japan earlier this year for $590 USD.
Seems the Hawaiian islands are off the beaten track.

Your frt rate sounds about right, I shipped 88lbs from AZ for $300.00 US , bigger box than your engine. everything in Hawaii comes in on a plane or boat and niether is cheap.
It is a special engine , either way, if you really want it $800cdn isn't that bad. FWIW, you cant fly there and get it for under $1500, and they will still charge you for the carry on.

Try ship time from Costco may surprise you maybe not.

DS7 motor is a 250cc
R5 is a 350cc

So shouldn’t a TR3 motor have an R5 serial number?
